Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail

Beautiful paved shaded trail

August, 2020 by msscarlet59

We drove 90 minutes from Pennsylvania to bike this trail and it was well worth the trip. Started in Lisbon and rode the whole way to Washingtonville and back. The trail is well maintained asphalt, mostly level and probably 75% shady, going through some lovely wooded areas. There is a little off- trail street section through the village of Leetonia, which is well marked, does include a few steeper sections, but very little car traffic. Several trailheads along the way included portajohns. Overall, a highly recommended trail.

Great Allegheny Passage

A much improved trail - Ohiopyle to Confluence

August, 2020 by FrankJ

In my last review (very recent, and in fact, just yesterday) of this section of the Great Allegheny Passage, I complained about the very poor condition of the trail. Well, I rode this section again today just to see if it was repaired yet. Lo and behold, it was! New limestone was laid down on the entire 10+ mile length between Ohiopyle and Confluence. This made for a smooth, fantastic ride. I hope that the trail will be continually maintained like this. Congratulations and a BIG Thank You to the crews who did this work!! What a great surprise this was. The trail was fun again.

Great Allegheny Passage

Rough Trail - Ohiopyle to Confluence

August, 2020 by FrankJ

Generally a great trail. However, the section between Ohiopyle and Confluence is in dire need of repair. I don't know when the last time crushed limestone has been added to this trail, but it must have been 15 years ago. The last few years, this section has been very rough on tires. There is actually no limestone in several places, and you are riding on exposed base stone, which is very rough. Rough enough to destroy a tire if you are moving fast. On my last trip this past spring, the trail condition was still horrible. I'm hoping that the trail has been repaired by now (August 2020).

Redbank Valley Rail Trail

Nice Trail

August, 2020 by dcsnyder

Very nice trail, we started in Brookville and went to mile 6 at the junction with the spur. Tougher ride back once you hit Hawthorn as it is a long gradual climb. It's railroad grade but very long. Neat tunnels, short but not lit so bring a strong light. In New Bethlehem there are several places to grab a bite to eat. We stopped at a Subway on the trail and it is the nicest Subway I've ever seen. Surface was good as it held up even in the pouring rain.

Berlin Lake Trail

We are really enjoyed our bike ride. The only reason I gave it four stars instead of five is because on the offshoot paths where the fishing spots are, there's a lot of broken glass.

Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail

One of the best biking trails in Ohio

August, 2020 by adhist

Back in 2004 my wife and I rode this trail. I remembered that we had trouble finding the trailhead at that time. Now, in 2020, my grandson and I went back and found a trailhead that did not even exist back then, in Washingtonville, just off Route 14 -- and Leetonia is only a couple of miles to the South, with another nice trailhead and parking area. We did the round trip to Lisbon and back. Lots of fun and lots of shade. I think maybe 80% of the trail is covered by trees. It is downhill from Washingtonville, so be ready for some uphill cycling from Lisbon back to Leetonia or Washingtonville. The 66-year-old grandpa and the 15-year-old grandson passed everyone going back up the hill! Anyway, lots of nice people and nice scenery. You can also rent a bicycle or a motorized cycle at the trailhead in Lisbon, if you decide to start there. I do wholeheartedly recommend this trail. About 25 miles round trip. One of the best biking trails in Ohio.

Shenango Trail

Shenango Trail-July 22, 2020

July, 2020 by joseph_torok

The Shenango Trail is nearly completely weed free and brush cut. Two small sections must still be cleared. Maintenance is behind due to COVID-19 work restrictions. The southern section from Big Bend to New Hamburg, 4 miles, is the best it has ever been. The section bordering the beaver pond is still a concern. The swinging bridge bypass is clear and is regularly used by equestrians.

Awesome ride

July, 2020 by milgler

We rode the bulgar to Walker Mills section today so now we have rides the entire trail. Nice surface except one section that was really rough in spots. Was downhill all the way to Walker Mills so ride back was not as fast. Will definitely be riding this trail again.

Great Allegheny Passage

Great for cyclists of all ages and levels. Pittsburgh to Ohiopyle was a great trip; lots of shade on a 90+ degree day made the heat not be much of an issue. Riders are very respectful with covid. Bring lots of water- water stations are hit/miss at present. A+ trail!
