We travel around with our folding ebikes and explore good trails on traillink. Jekkyl island tops the list for the scenery, historic sites, wildlife, and the trail network. Absolute perfection.
This trial is mostly nice for biking, but the one negative is the 1 mile section of wooden bridge. The slats are quite worn, noisy and hard on a road bike with thin tires. A mountain bike, however, would handle it well. You definitely wouldn’t want children to get ahead of you on trail as the crosswalks can be busy and dangerous.
I love the trails here. Been riding my bike for 20 years now!
Great trail when to crowed. Shaded all the way to the bridge. Started at Peters Point ended at Little Talbot Islanders approx 22 miles. Took the street back due to trail being crowded by walkers and beach cruisers. Really nice trail .
Pro flat, shaded, not too many road crossings, well maintained. Con Not a lot of scenery, isolated, no food or drinks anywhere around.
Mid October ride was cool in temp but even a warmer day would take advantage of the shaded trails for cooling. Parked at the COVID closed convention center as were many other areas. Closed water park reminded me of Wally World. FYI entry to the island cost for all day parking. 8$ did not see this on the other reviews, maybe I missed.
We were really impressed with the mix of natural beauty and manicured park-like setting offered by Jekyll Island bicycle trail. Absolutely enjoyed ever second of the beautiful island. Georgia state parks system did this one perfectly. Can not wait to return.
It is a great 6 mile paved path. We actually went off the path to American Beach. Stopped at a road side stand and bought oranges. We had a wonderful day.
Great trail. Not hard and would be great for kids and seniors. Trail is mostly shady. Lots of parking.
Well maintained!! Plenty of places to stop to take a break or have a picnic!
Trail is well maintained. Nice parking areas with good small facilities at Imeson Trailhead. Baldwin has excellent facilities. Between mile markers 8 and 9 another timely facility. Halsema Rd parking has a few picnic tables and portable restroom. I was there on Memorial Day Sunday. It was crowded. Most riders practice road etiquette, but a few don’t...be careful. I will definitely do this trail again
