Pine Creek Rail Trail

ceremonial opening into Wellsboro

October, 2025 by aa3jy

They had a ceremonial opening from Wellsboro Junction into Wellsboro today. Only allowed one day to explore the new section then closed for a couple of weeks to complete construction of a fence between the trail and the still active rail line.

Autumn Ride

October, 2025 by smwarner4254

We had a beautiful morning on this great trail! It started off cool( in the high 40s) but warmed nicely by noon. Watched some trout being stocked in the river on our way back to the car. I’m looking forward to coming back and seeing more of this area.

Lambs Creek Hike & Bike Trail

Poorly maintained

September, 2025 by lchrba

Parking behind a string of stores and back always next to an environmental facility. BEWARE recumbent/trike riders or anyone who doesn’t like hills. There is a hill in the beginning of this trail and we were exhausted walking up. Then the bumps started. We eventually turned around after about a mile and then the hill. Actually the surroundings are appealing. Now if some agency had the money and could maintain the trail it would be great.

Lackawanna Rail Trail

Nice afternoon ride

August, 2025 by escdvm

Looking for a relatively close ride to our home in upstate PA and found the Lackawanna trail just north of Elmira. Eldridge park parking lot was very easy and convenient. Wegman's grocery parking lot was ok also but very busy. Signage to the trail was not well marked at intersections or along the route. We counted 4 or 5 piles of clothes and sleeping bags and garbage from homeless residents in the area along the first 1/3 of the route. lots of graffiti on signs in the parks along the way. trail was not well maintained in the city area but once in the forested area it was beautiful. lots of birds along the river. road noise along the highway was well muted by the trees and not really observable as the trail was "below it". Southern endpoint was not easily found or visible. only 3 spots and one handicap spot available. No signage at all--glad to have the Trail link maps. All flat and no challenging spots on the route at all on the pavement except for tree routes near the beginning heaving up the ashpalt.

Susquehanna River Walk & Timber Trail

Susquehanna River walk and Timber Trail PA--A great afternoon excursion

August, 2025 by escdvm

We were looking for an afternoon on the bikes and found this great trail. The Parking lots are very well marked and plenty of spaces to leave the car. Entire trail is well groomed asphalt. Very small amount of plastic bags/bottles but otherwise very clean. Beautiful ride along the Susquehanna river! Yes it was along the highway also, but the river was a great distraction. some Canada geese, a Coramont but no ducks. Bridge crossings were a little challenging but short uphills and very well marked to get back to the trail. Only complaint was that there were no {marked} restrooms along the route. We took advice from another reviewer and did a small loop at the South end of the trail in a residential park of South Williamsport. Beautiful park with a very clean restroom facility. After completing the route, we doubled back from the south parking lot and took the Market street bridge back to the north parking lot to complete the ride. Really enjoyed this.

Pine Creek Rail Trail

Beautiful Trail

June, 2025 by zap26

This is a beautiful trail. The upper half is much more scenic than the second half. This was my second time doing the entire trail. I got a shuttle to Wellsboro from Pine Creek Outfitters and biked back to the trail head in Jersey Shore. I didn't stop as much as I thought I would and do some of the hikes. It was brutally hot today. I am glad I did this trail again, not in the rain (which happened last time). Don't think I need to redo it again; I would rather check out some other trails in PA first.
