It opened recently. Its a great trail to walk or ride. Some areas have a lot of people. Then from Fisherman's Village you can follow a trail thru Punta Gorda.
Great trail for walking, jogging, rollerblading, and biking. You can access from Golden Gate Parkway, behind the zoo parking, or from Baker Park. Public restrooms plus parking at all three entrance points. Trail is primarily asphalt with some boardwalks. Starting at Baker park to Golden Gate Blvd, including the loop at the zoo parking then back to Baker will give you a good 5 mile walk.
Doesn’t show all bike trails. In fact missing quite a few.
About 2 of the 6 miles are decent for inline skating. The rest is tolerable, but it's in need of resurfacing.
It’s worth the fee for crossing over the causeway! There are parts that wind through the subdivisions and parts that ride along a very busy road- but riding safely on the trail. We’ll definitely return for another ride! Several public accesses to beaches. It’s a beautiful island!
Nicely paved, several street crossings. There and back 16+ miles. Great ride!
Great trail, tremendous trail, believe me! You can ask anyone, the trail is one of the best! I’ve been on many trails, this one is tremendous.
Parking, water, and restrooms are available at the South Trailhead at 14608 Ben C Pratt Six Mile Cypress Parkway (the trailhead is shown on the map but parking, etc, are not indicated). On the Apple Maps app, put in “Daniel’s Buckingham Trail” to see the location of the Daniel’s Parkway dirt parking area. To cross Daniel’s Parkway go west to the first traffic light and use the crosswalk.
This trail is just past the West trail down the dirt road. Nice parking area, but we wrote our bikes all the way from the park entrance. 15.5 miles out and back. Rode down to the Fakahatchee Hilton! Sat on the dock and looked at all the gators swimming happily in their pond. Beautiful swamp area! We were in the middle of the drought so the trail was muddy and a few spots, but mainly dry. Met an experience hiker that said the west Trail was really lush and beautiful, but we ran out of time!
Started our ride at the north end trailhead and rode south to the causeway. Nice surface, straight, mostly flat trail. Great views of the canals and waterways. 16 miles, great ride.
Don't get run over by all the nasty gulf carts flying by...
