Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail

Nice Ride

March, 2020 by twopalms_2

We rode the entire trail and enjoyed the variety of northern Florida scenery--forest, farmland, and swamp. Some sections parallel the highway but are separate from it with only a couple of well marked highway crossings. Our only question is -- where are all the people?? There were so few riders out on this pretty Sunday afternoon. Not complaining. Just saying.

Not a bad trail for an easy run

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Good winter ride

February, 2020 by buffettbike

My wife and I rode the segment westbound starting at the trailhead just on the west side of I-95 all the way to the Maytown spur trailhead at Virgies. Nicely paved trail, below average scenery. Zero shade. This ride would be brutal in the summer. We chose this segment because the portion of the trail in downtown Titusville passed through a not so nice part of town.

Great Trail

Parked at the Vermont Blvd location and rode all the way to Palatka. Great trail that has a nice wide paved surface. A lot of places to stop and rest along the trail.

Lehigh Trail is a “Gem”

First time on this trail Jan 2020. Great trail for a good leisure bike ride. Well maintained and a wide paved trail with bike maintenance stations at several locations along the trail.

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Great trail but lacks signage

December, 2019 by timbee205

I rode parts of this trail I hadn't been on before namely Edgewater to the split. Finding the parking area was easy but getting on the right trail wasn't. After you cross busy Park Ave you go on a narrow sidewalk and then take a right turn. At that point a wide paved trail (apparently a city trail) lies straight ahead with no marking, so I took the logical path and eventually wound up dead ended in front of a high school. To get back to the trail from where I was at I had to take a very busy, no shoulder road (Old Mission) to connect to the East Central Trail. On the way back, the ECT dead ended with no signs or arrows. Whoever manages this trail needs to install signs or at least arrows. Also, as far as signs go it would be nice to get some idea of point-to-point distances. For markings and signage this trail gets a BIG RED "F".

And while they're at it why not put in some porta-potties and water fountains--there are NO facilities or stores on this trail--so pack in your water & food supply.

With that said this trail was very nice & smooth with lush vegetation on both sides. Why not add to what's been done to make it more user friendly.

Lehigh Greenway Rail Trail

ride this trail everyday

November, 2019 by jolygi59

This trail is about a mile from our home. My wife and I pretty much ride it everyday. It connects us with many city multi use paths. We ride it for our shopping needs so much we don’t have to use our vehicle. Definitely check it out and all the other paths Palm Coast has to offer.

Spring to Spring Trail

Great Ride 11/21/2019

November, 2019 by jolygi59

My wife and I started at the Lake Monroe park and boat launch. Rode this portion north and east around the lake and then picked up the west end of the East Central Regional trail. I'm guessing about 32 miles round trip. Definitely a 5+ rating. The scenery and wildlife was amazing. We saw 2 bald eagles and a family of deer along the way. Visited Gemini Springs and Green Springs too. Also, at every street crossing we came to, all the motorists were so considerate. Evidence of a community that embraces the trails and the folks who use it. After our ride we drove to Central 28 brewing for a beer. We could have rode our bikes there but it was getting dark. Their beers are really good and they had a great food truck that night. For those that read this review I'll give you a tip. If you ride your bike to the brewery on a Sunday they will give you a beer for free !!

Spring to Spring Trail

Camping and bicycles

November, 2019 by blu109 2013

Its not as easy to find nice camping and a beautiful bike trail as you would think. Blue Springs campground is right on the trail! You can ride into Town, never have to drive. This whole trail system is really growing. Very exciting.

My Local Trail

Lehigh Trail is a great ride. It’s divided into 3 sections: US1 to Belle Terre is the Westernmost section (parking is available nearby on Royal Palm or at Belle Terre). Belle Terre to Old Kings is the middle section but it does make you cross Town Center Drive towards the Eastern End. Very limited parking at Old Kings, but there are riding & parking options in Town Center. Old Kings to Colbert is the Easternmost section and has the most wildlife (squirrels and rabbits to snakes, hogs & gators) . It is also near the trailhead with lots of parking and clean restrooms. There’s also

Great trail

November, 2019 by dannesty

My husband and I rode this trail a few days ago. Started just west of Vermont heights and rode 14 miles west and back again. The trail is mostly shaded through woods. A few miles in the sun by Hasting through farms. Ate breakfast in Hastings at Nirmas which was quite good! . Would like to come Bach another day when it’s a little cooler and ride the entire trail.

Palatka-to-Lake Butler State Trail

November, 2019 by gin3578

It's a very peaceful and quiet ride the only thing I would want more is signage indicating the miles from and to
From this point to palatka is fifteen miles etc
