Nice ride, stared from riding up hill from Lancaster to Palmdale. The way back was Speeds up to 25 mph. Get to see a Joshua Trees and enjoyed the desert scenery.
Used the this trail with friends to roller skate(quad) and it was a good ride! However, because of the dirt trail alongside the bike trail, there were many little pebbles and dirt debris. Also, the cement dividers are pretty deep making to feel the need to skate tense in order not to trip. Street crossing wasn’t too bad on this route, only 2 big streets with a few small streets. This route is probably not ideal for beginner skaters. I would love to come back on my bike and walking with my dog. Not too much uphill/downhill.
I took this route a couple Saturdays ago. I started in El Monte which had lots of parking and right onto the path you go. The trail was smooth and fun. You only have to cross the street in Montebello from Whittier Narrows. The trail was debris free all the way to Downey. I would take this ride again and want to continue it to Long Beach.
I caught a beautiful fall day. The trail is paved all the way. Easy ride. Good for getting in a workout. Scenery is an intercity canal system. Not much to rave about. What counts was the ability to ride!!! The riders ranged from families on bikes to road bikes getting in miles. People understood trail etiquette. If you are in the area, would recommend.
This trail is absolutely amazing. You get a shoreline ride through every beach from Torrance to Santa Monica. We did the entire trail yesterday round trip and it was well worth the 40 mile loop! Will definitely go again
I ride my electric scooter on this trail and I love it. The distance is perfect for me. I ride from Madera to Erringer, stop at the park, and ride back. Very enjoyable. I recommend it ¿¿¿¿
I recommend getting started in the morning a weekday preferably. Both Venice and Santa Monica are absolutely stunning in the morning and are quite peaceful with lots to see. Marina del Rey and Ballona creek have some of the best scenery of any path I’ve been on the ocean is clear and the marina itself is beautiful. The path is doable and you get an amazing view of the beaches in la
Great trail, can get busy but it’s one of my go to trails for a pleasant ride
Thoroughly enjoyable ride with plenty of wildlife, running water, great trail, would do again and again
Started at Parque Rió Hondo on the corner of San Gabriel and Rosemead. Went north towards El Monte. Rode with my family for about 4 miles and then turned back. Road trail was well maintained. Very little traffic given it was a Friday afternoon. Relatively scenic. There are several off road trails along the way but they are encumbered by homeless encampments so be aware. Try to moderate your speed in the bushy areas as there were several instances of rabbits crossing the road. You don’t want to have an accident in trying to avoid them. Would definitely do this trail again. Enjoy!
