Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail

summer ride

June, 2020 by kcecil926_tl

Fantastic ride, even on a hot summer day. A stop in Dunedin for lunch and gelato at the bike store made it even more enjoyable. Not as much scenery along the way but lots of great stops in the small towns.

Shingle Creek Regional Trail (FL)

Well Shaded, Abundant Wildlife

June, 2020 by trenner_tl

Enjoy a early morning ride through the Shingle Creek Preserve and Sanctuary. Well shaded and nice wide path. During my ride saw several species NOC birds, snake crossing my path,, alligator in the one of the many lakes. Path ends just North of Carol Street however the path is being extended over Osceola Parkway and will exited and additional 30 miles.

Pretty nice trail

June, 2020 by jbuckner2011

My fiancé and I liked this trail because it was a change of scenery for us. We typically go to Flatwoods trail. The breeze from the bay and wide open spaces looking over the bay between Hillsborough and Pinellas was really nice. There are two bridges you have to go over. One much bigger than the other. They offer a nice midway challenge. We parks at Ben T Davis and went all the way to the other side and back. At total of nearly 16 miles.

Kissimmee Trail Loop

Morning Ride

June, 2020 by trenner_tl

This morning I road the Northern Portion of the trail from N. Side of John Young Parkway to where the trail T off at Shingle Creek, The path isn't clearly marked however I met on of the Local which recommend the more scenic route. Please note that the official trail head go left (south) when you come to the T on the trail and then winds down under 192 and then East on the N Side of Kissimmee Airport to Central Blvd and then North Again. The trail on Central is mostly sidewall until you get 1/4 north of 192.

As I mentioned I went North and off the Kissimmee Trail which runs parallel to Shingle Creek Preserve . The path is mostly shaded and there is potential to see a variety of wildlife. According to the local I met he said that Kissimmee is in the process of extend the North Route over Osceola Parkway.

When the Path Y off before Osceola Parkway and I decided to Head South on West Carol Street and back to where I started on John Young Parkway. I am here visiting my daughter for the next few day therefore I will explore the Southern Route over the weekend and will post more.

South Lake and Lake Minneola Scenic Trail

Treat yourself to this amazing trail!

June, 2020 by maureen.maensivu

Start at the Killarney Station Trailhead & do the whole thing. Plan a stop at Lilly’s on the Lake in the way back. Rode during the Cornovirus social distancing time so Clermont’s gorgeous Victory Point was quiet but still impressive.

Old Fort King Trail

Kind of historical feel

June, 2020 by janet3511

Trail follows 301 like an old road. Feels historical but noisy due to traffic did not get into wooded part was closed. Not long enough for good ride w/o that section.

Upper Tampa Bay Trail

Nice trail

June, 2020 by janet3511

Covered trail with lost of side places to stop. A few bridges over roads as well they need to connect the South and North sections and will be it would be great..

Across the bay trail no cover. Expanse views of the bay cars speeding by. Did the trail from Pinellas side and combined Bayshore and Reems trail to get 24 mile loop. Stopped at Rocky point and had lunch nice day!

Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail

Lots of things to see

June, 2020 by janet3511

This trail changes depending on where you are. It's mostly an urban neighbor hood trail. In the north its less urban and more parks, can take it over the top of lake tarpon across Keystone to Starkey property thru cow fields. The Dunedin section is a small down town with micro brewery and many shops. Near Bay Pines there is a nice bridge over the south starts a stretch of bridges and overpasses to challenge your legs. (there are many scattered over main roads along entire trail) South in StPete is a more historical, art feel and city scape.

West Orange Trail
