Cross Seminole Trail

Cross Seminole Trail

April, 2021 by kmsill9599

Decided to travel to this side of the state to try out the paved bike trails in Seminole, Orange & Volusia counties & we started with the Cross Seminole Trail at the Big Tree Park trailhead. We rode down to The Cady Way trailhead and then back which gave us about 36.85 miles for the day. A lot of intersections to cross so be careful! Stop in Winter Springs for a cool drink!

East Central Regional Rail Trail

GREAT TRAIL!

April, 2021 by bigdon911

Rode the trail again but took the 47 mile route for my 1st CENTURY ride, just wish I could have gotten three more miles on that side for the full 50. The new addition to trail is nearly done but is accessible, just be aware of the incomplete curbs! Trail is mostly shaded until you get to Sanford’s Coast line which is beautiful¿. Came into close encounters with two baby bobcats at mile 92 as the sun began to set. Let’s say the adrenaline kicked in very quick. Warning there are three overpass so if you ride entire trail save some energy but you can skip the over pass and pass underneath for wimps only! SAFE TRAVELS!¿¿¿¿

Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail

Great Ride

March, 2021 by ckoher

My husband and I road a section of this trail today. We entered at the Cora C. Harrison Preserve Trailhead and rode toward St. Augustine. We turned back around at the point where you need to cross a 4 lane divided highway with no signal. I felt too nervous about crossing. It was a nice trail for the most part. Some shaded areas, and some in full sun along side the main roads. I do appreciate that the trailheads have clean bathroom facilities, and picnic areas. The Cora C. Harrison Trailhead had a decent sized parking lot as well. The path is fairly level, with views of crops growing, and some cabbage was being harvested today. We did see a family of wild turkey as well. We will ride this trail again!

Well maintained trail, only a few roots pushing up under the asphalt in a couple of places. Beautiful scenery. I saw an otter scurry across the trail on one ride. Watch out for the squirrels!

Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail

Great Trail

March, 2021 by tunahawk

I ride this trail often for exercise, its pretty smooth, there is one very bumpy section just northeast of Spuds for ~ 100 yards for those with low pressure tires it shouldnt be a problem. Overall a well maintained pleasant ride.

West Orange Trail

Palatka-to-St. Augustine State Trail

great trail - can be extended

February, 2021 by fljulsm

I ride this trail at least three times a week. Trail is becoming a little bumpy due to tree roots. I start at the trail head on 207 just south of St. Augustine. I ride to Hastings, about 10 miles. I then leave the trail and take the country roads out to the river. I see maybe 3 cars a day on those roads. I end up with a round trip of 27 miles. Check out Google maps to find the roads that lead to Federal Point from where the trail crosses Main Street in Hastings. The trail crosses 207 twice. Bvery careful, cars don’t even slow down when you are waiting to cross.

West Orange Trail

Beautiful ride!

February, 2021 by david.weil.771

The trail winds around beautiful woods and a golf course with minimal exposure to traffic.

Cross Seminole Trail

Improvements are coming!

February, 2021 by martinf

Finally the connection of the second and third section is near completion at mile marker 14.5 where the trail dead ended into a recycling dump before. In addition they are constructing public restrooms along the trail at the Winter Springs High School sports complex. This turns the trail from a 4 to a 5 star bike trail, though it still has many road crossings and certain sections get quite busy on weekends. People are overall polite and cooperative when you announce yourself and communicate well with drivers at the many 4 way stops. I love this trail since a lot of it runs through shady wooded areas, especially between Longwood and Oviedo.
