The trail was about 10’ wide And definitely no bathrooms. Very desolate very very few people around we went on a Saturday afternoon. Cloudy it probably would’ve been hot if the sun was out it was 75 and cloudy if you like cows and trees you would enjoy it. We went about 7 miles and turned around. We sort of liked this path but other than that it was boring I thought and so did my wife. We started on the south end by Auburndale Trail and continued on to this trail about
¿. You can ride along The path and see the huge sports complex. Beautiful dog park fenced in and playgrounds - all types of stuff for people to do - benches for sitting on the sides of the trail. The trail is blacktop about 10 foot wide very smooth besides some spots. We started at the south end and went north to General James A. Vann Fleet State Trail and continued on that trail for another 15 miles then turned around and came back
The paths are very long, well maintained, and scenic. Roller skating around and along the pond is a delightful experience.
Started our ride at the north end trailhead and rode south to the causeway. Nice surface, straight, mostly flat trail. Great views of the canals and waterways. 16 miles, great ride.
We had a lovely afternoon biking this trail. It's flat except for the handful of times you go over a bridge to cross a busy road. We saw several gopher tortoises along the way, zero alligators so that was good. We rented our bikes from Legacy Bike rental which is adjacent to the trail. We were able to leave our car there which was nice.
This time I went for a bike ride & got really pissed! There was dog crap, horse crap all over the trail- unsanitary!! Why are horses allowed on a paved pedestrian trail?? I used to take my kids there but not anymore. Also today there was a real jerk in a white Auburndale City truck who did not yield to me (on a bike) & kept driving after the parking lot where he could have pulled off. Also 2 John Deer tractors were on the trail & they acted like it was their trail! This was supposed to add to the beauty & relaxation of our city, but it does nothing but cause resentment & disgust at the jerks who have no sense!! There needs to be rules posted & enforced.
Gorgeous trail. A lot of wild life. Boars, gators, deer, birds, cows. You’d see it all. Most of the trail is very well maintained. A small part at the beginning of trail is a bit bumpy. Definitely worth the ride.
The trail is nice and flat but is definitely bumpy. But overall a good ride
We've ridden this trail for more than 20 years. Wildlife is a little more sparse these days, although we did see a deer and a turkey last week. It's a 7 mile one way loop (add 2 miles from the Bruce B Downs parking lot or 0.6 miles from the Morris Bridge Rd. entrance). It's in a fast growing area (New Tampa) but it doesn't take long to get away from civilization. There are some off road trails as well. It can get busy with fast riders and skaters. Parts of the main trail are going to need re-paving soon, but ample water stops and pleasant scenery make this one a lot of fun.
This is our first trail. It was quiet, peaceful & nicely paved. Friendly people walking & riding bikes.
