June, 2020 by pauldiegelman

Biked from Black Lick to Nanty Glo, then north, regained the trail, rode back west thru Rexis and completed the "lollipop" back to the start. 58 miles. Excellent trail, nice things to check out on the way, and the scenery for much of the trail feels like Colorado - spectacular !

Ghost Town Trail

Great ride!

June, 2020 by sandrews0727

Went west to East from Saylor Park to Buena Vista furnace, 9.5 miles. Really well maintained trail with lots of old rail and coal mining artifacts as well as the very well preserved 1850s blast furnace. There are several interest market plaques that give you a nice break while you read about the history of the area. It’s uphill going east and downhill back, highly recommend doing it this way!

Lower Trail

Great ride with the kids

June, 2020 by davliakos1

Loved this trail! Easy ride with kids of all ages. We started on the paved trail turning right at the Williamsburg trailhead. After a few miles it changed to gravel which was still easy to ride. We were met by a chicken and rooster who came over from a nearby farm to see us. There’s a small ice cream store at the trailhead which was great on a hot day.

Houtzdale Line Trail

We tried to do this trail but could not find the start of the trail (Houtzdale end). There were multiple gravel roads/trails but no markings or designated parking lot. I have never been to a trail where the trailhead was not clearly marked.

Huntingdon and Broad Top Rail Trail

Our time

May, 2020 by scott_music

I brought my son-in-law here for the day. With the recent geocache hides, we enjoyed our experience. Our ride and find trek also included posing for a discovered game cam pic, staying off a split rail fence decorated with a emphatic warning, swerving around a orange piling to miss a trail washout, jumping over a green and black snake and turning around at Cypher Station for the return gradual ascending route to Tatesville. Don’t know if we will return to finish the rest to Riddlesburg but appreciate the different parking waypoint accesses. Not our best rail trail but sufficient for “our time”.

Bells Gap Rail Trail

nice trail

It’s a incline from the trail head up. Nice bench’s, nice walking or biking. You can tell someone is trying to improve it.....

David S. Ammerman Trail (formerly Clearfield to Grampian Trail)

Beautiful trail...the majority of it!!!

May, 2020 by Joshua Brock

We needed to find a trail between State College and Saint Marys as we were meeting my wife’s folks halfway to drop off food and some supplies (the days of COVID-19)...and walla, Clearfield! The directions to the Clearfield terminus are a tad off...we drove right by it. It shows it near/beside a grocery store. It’s actually right before it and the signage doesn’t jump out at you. Once we found it, plenty of parking. The trail as you head west for the first mile or two is more practical than attractive...it happens in places where the rail went through industrial parts of a town. But once you leave Clearfield and heads towards Curwensville, it’s a beautiful ride...some gorgeous scenery...classic farmland and creeksides.
