Chain of Lakes Trail

Room for improvement

December, 2023 by tradesman7

Thru the worst parts of town. Room for improvement. I wouldn’t walk it after dark.

Druid Road Trail

it’s actually a sidewalk!

December, 2023 by skifan56

Not only is it not a designated trail, it doesn’t reach the end, and Just turns into broken up sidewalk! Many people Overpark onto the walk and block the flow a bicycle traffic.

Good Neighbor Trail

One of my favorites!

December, 2023 by recumbentbc

The Good Neighbor Trail is just the right distance for me. I start at the train station on the west trailhead and head east to the intersection of the Withlacoochie Trail. There are three relatively major road crossing early on in the ride, none of which has required me to stop and wait. The trail rolls through trees and some homes. It’s so quiet almost the entire way. No facilities of any type, but plenty of trees!!

Coastal Anclote Trail

Nice trail!

December, 2023 by recumbentbc

I rode the entire trail (according to the map) in a couple of hours. The trail condition is great, almost always in the woods, so little traffic noise, and the parks and access to the Gulf is good.

Suncoast Trail

Suncoast north of Cortez (Hwy 50)

December, 2023 by recumbentbc

This portion of the Suncoast Trail is a nice trail. It parallels an interstate highway but is frequently buffered by trees and bushes, and traffic along this portion of the highway is relatively not busy except for the garbage trucks returning from the nearby transfer station. It is a rolling trail with a good black top surface, some say bitumenes, I’m not sure of the difference. No facilites of any type, so if you’re bashful this isn’t your trail!!

Starkey Wilderness Park Paved Trail

New blacktop & new bathroom!!

December, 2023 by recumbentbc

I quit riding the Starkey Trail last year because the trail surface was disintegrating! WELL, I road it yesterday (12/10/23) and it’s been completely resurfaced from parking lot to the intersection with the Suncoast Trail. They have even built a new bathroom, pavilion, tool station, and water fountain! It’s wonderful! The trail goes through miles of beautiful wilderness with NO noise pollution! It’s perfectly flat. I highly recommend this trail!! Bryan

Withlacoochee State Trail

Great Ride

November, 2023 by barbscondo

We started at the Floral City trailhead and rode to Croom. 13.5 miles. 27 round trip. All beautiful shaded tree canopy. About 6-7 miles from Floral City right on the trail at Istachatta is a great ice cream and sandwich shop. Would definitely ride again. We saw a deer and wild turkeys.

Starkey Wilderness Park Paved Trail

Nice new surface

November, 2023 by jpxrn68cxh

We enjoyed riding the Starkey trail this afternoon. Nice to see the upgrades to this trail. Still on the boring side but peacefully quiet.

Longboat Key Bike Trail

True Road Trail

November, 2023 by wallbaumt

This was fairly non-scenic, as the entire trail is the bike lane on the very active road up and down the peninsula. It’s mid November so very little walkers/runners and fellow bikers, but the road is very busy. There are spots to duck out to public beach access, but they are not rideable. The gulf is gorgeous however. There are a few spots along the way to eat/drink, if you’re interested. Parking at Overlook Park was ample. after the ride. The city

Fort Fraser Trail

Sunday Ride

October, 2023 by seashell_cottage

We live in Florida and have driven Hwy 98 for many years, always saying that we should ride this trail. Today was the day. We parked at the sheriffs station as someone had suggested. The trail is a very nice paved path for a very comfortable ride and well taken care of. Lots of shade and a chance to see the area at a slow pace. Lunch at Culver’s after our ride. A beautiful day.

Fort Desoto Island Park Trail

Comfortable and Easy

October, 2023 by t8ayer

Very much enjoyed riding this trail in Fort Desoto Park. Things to see along the way. Beautiful cooler day in early October.
