Kal-Haven Trail Sesquicentennial State Park

Nice Trail August 2021

August, 2021 by paulz

My wife and I rode from VanBuren State Park on the VanBuren Spur trail to Locato. It was about 29 miles round trip. The trail was paved to South Haven. We were on town streets for about 1.5 miles then on the other side of So. Haven the trail became the Kal-Haven. The trail was on very hard packed clay. It was mostly shaded and flat. bring what you need. There wasn't any services from So. haven to Locato.
South Haven reminded me of a quaint New England town. There was a lot of activity and a lot of services.

Falling Waters Trail

Thank you from a Walled Laker

August, 2021 by npapadakos

We get there and like one reviewer said, a lady told us not to go one way it’s a little dangerous. Jackson needs to fix that. Sad this day and age we still have places in America tha are unsafe to be even in the middle of the day. So instead we went towards Spring Arbor and Concord. Swam at Lime Lake. Beautiful. Not very good markings telling us where to go but nice people willing to point the way. Shout out to Cadet Tavern in Concord. You were the only place open on a Sunday. One review mentioned a place to eat and it was closed. Everything was. So if you’re riding on a Sunday and want to eat, Cadet Tavern is the place to go. And it was good!

This trail would be so much nicer but need mowed on the sides, better signs and trail markers. We are from Pennsylvania and it was nice to see the river and would have loved to see the rowing team practicing hence our neighbor is a rowing coach. Will or would we come back to this trail…..not anytime soon….

I rode this trail today and it was amazing! It’s flat which made for an easy ride. Beautiful lakes as well as corn fields. Plenty of shade too.

Portland Riverwalk

Wonderful Trail

August, 2021 by mmiles04

Came over from Olivet to ride this trail. It was perfect! We weren’t able to do the whole trail but we thoroughly enjoyed what we did cover. We road into the quaint town of downtown Portland and stopped at the Chocolate Moose for their delicious homemade ice cream!

Paul Henry-Thornapple Trail

terrible “trail “!

July, 2021 by jplaweck

We visited GR for a bike vacation and the trail from Kentwood going south for at least the first 5 miles was the very worst bike trail we’ve ever experienced anywhere! Terribly maintained, poorly signed, narrow and bumpy! Plus a long stint right next to a very loud interstate! I mean right next to it!! We found the trail so unenjoyable that we rerouted ourselves back to our car off the trail after only 5 miles! With so many other great bike trails in the area, don’t waste your time on this one!!!Truly brutal!!

Battle Creek Linear Park

Great Way To Spend Some Time!

July, 2021 by cartrider65

I started this trail at Bailey Park and headed towards downtown. This has a little bit of everything to see, including boardwalk, animals, and beautiful scenery. It is easy to navigate and explore with various side paths to take you on. The trail is well maintained with several spots to take a break, even a spot to grab a bite to eat. This was a good day on the trail.

Kalamazoo River Valley Trail

KRV needs TLC

July, 2021 by jcstark

My husband and I road this trail this past weekend. We started at the Galesburg Augusta primary school in Galesburg and road west to just beyond the nature center before turning around. There are several signs on this trail showing support from the various communities yet it appears no one has done anything other than mowing alongside it in quite a while. There are small tree branches all along the trail, including one downed tree. And it looks like recent rain showers have deposited a lot of sand and small stone in several spots. One particular section had a lot of homeless people. They were no issues but it is just something good to know for families taking small children on this road

Bike Ride Jun 12 2021

June, 2021 by michaelmrowe65

Just recently moved to MI and I have always been a avid bike rider. I seen some incredible parks with bike trails, and this park I have to say was one of the best. The trail is very nice and very scenic not to mention the cleanliness of the trail is excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed the morning bike ride. I only went 8 miles out of the 10 miles and turned around. My next trip I will go the entire way.
