Great path for a long peaceful bike ride. We went on a very hot early September day after lunch and the breeze did help provide some coolness but the lack of shade definitely wasn’t as helpful. The park area is very serene but not as many beach views as I was hoping for. Parking is $6 now inside Fort de Soto park, but you should be able to park for free outside the park and ride to the park as there are paths every where. Super convenient restroom inside the park as well as beach access.
I would start in Floral City and head towards Gulf junction trailhead. Great scenery and places to stop. 44 miles there and back!
It sure was a cool ride—peaceful, scenic, and the perfect way to disconnect from the outside noise and reconnect with what really matters. ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
This trail would be amazing if Pasco County had budgeted to make parking areas at the major road crossings. This includes Ridge Rd., Shady Hills Rd. and Countyline Rd. If you want to park at the trail, you have to drive to SR 54 or to Hernando County. Or you can get ticketed by Pasco County Sheriff's Office for parking under the overpass at Shady Hills Rd. For such a nice trail, it is almost completely inaccessible to Pasco County residents.
Beautiful scenery, peaceful vibes, and miles of nature to explore. Sometimes the best adventures are right here in our own backyard! ¿¿¿A Must Do!!!
Nice long trail with wildlife and lots of shady canopy cover which is great in the summer. Saw an otter, tortoise, armadillo and many owls. Great time!
Teenagers and adult are now frequent with E bikes and motorize dirtbike
including golf Cart off wilsky's trail head. Racing off the grassfield and excessive speed on pave trails while other users are presents i am one of them. I am bringing this to your attention because i think it's getting out of control as a matter it is in my opinion. I have'nt notice any park official addressing this issue. I have seen your notice sign and this people seem to ignore it or dont see it. For the passed two months now they congregate @ 6PM till dark at the water stop. Thank You for attention.
Started at the Sargent park. Paved trail on a Saturday 8:30 morning was perfect. Paved part was 2.5 miles then you cross over on the 301 which has a nice crossing. Rest of the trail is gravel and dirt. Had no problem since it was dry. Definitely don’t go if wet, it’ll be too soggy. Beautiful surroundings. Knocked off a star because we couldn’t complete the trail due to a down tree. In total we did 10.5 miles. Since we started early we had shall the way.
Parked at Flatwoods Park where there’s restrooms and good amount of spaces. $2 to park. Paved road all the way around the loop and beyond. Several huts with giant water coolers. So nice on a hot day. Lots of folks riding, walking, skating. Everyone was respectful. Beautiful day. You get some shade from the trees but mostly open. On a hot day it’s best to go early.
We started at Felburn Park, very nice with plenty of parking. Only 1 road crossing. Not much for shade but a nice view of the channel alongside the trail. Some bumps near the park. We did the trail twice. We would do this trail again.
We actually rode this trail February of 2026. Enjoyed the ride but grew desperate to find privacy to pee being a female. Did find a place but didn't notice trail markers for next time. Definitely would ride trail again.
