The Part of this trail that is maintained by Oakland county is beautiful they are always working on the trail making it better, we start at the beginning off Joslyn and ride to Dryden , after that you can see a sign saying Polly Ann Trail but it's just land next to a building then nothing it's a part of the trail but it's just over grown grass and the path isn't like there, Trail Link and all maps show it goes to Imlay city but after Dryden the trail is never Maintained they really need to make the trail useable or drop that part off the trail map.
Walking, biking, fishing, boating, wildlife, skiing, sledding, waterpark, picnic tables everywhere. Miles and miles, plenty of bathrooms everywhere. Swans, blue Herons, Sandhills Cranes, turtles….. I could go on forever. I love it here, drive 45 min. To an hour all the time to come. It’s my haven, it’s my peace. Water everywhere, very safe, park staff, park police. Come and enjoy!!
Nothing really to see here except a few schools and some woods.
Nice round trip though.
After living in Northern & West Michigan for 15 years, this trail is good but not excellent. If you have ever had the chance to cycle on the White Pine Trail, Leelanau Trail, or others that are more northern/rural, the MOT will suffice for a semi-rural feel. From Romeo to Richmond, you will cycle past farms, small woods, creeks, and the North Branch Clinton River. I ran my bird app and came across some rare birds for the end of April. Migration is done done for spring so I am sure there would be some awesome birds to listen to and observe. I don't think this is trail for a 50+ mile ride. I would say out and back 25-30 miles maximum. I didn't cycle in the suburban sprawl portion. The surface is relatively good and there are a few potholes. The road crossings are typical for the population and as you get more rural, the traffic is less but still be very cautious. People drive so fast in southern Michigan even in semi-rural areas. Overall, great ride, but I would prefer to do longer rides of 30-70 miles in a truly rural setting where my cadence isn't broken by so many road crossings and bad drivers. Try it to see for yourself! Enjoy the ride!
Nothing to see or do here except a playground and crop fields
Nice smooth pathway and an easy ride between Gibraltar and Elizabeth Park. There's also a short offshoot into the Detroit International Wildlife Refuge, which I'd highly recommend checking out!
Perfectly smooth trail through some pleasant natural and residential areas. The loop at Huroc Park is a nice, shady stroll along the Huron River as well. Great ride!
Plenty of tree cover and lots of deer sightings in the section along I-75, and the stretch through town in Flat Rock is a relaxing stroll. Only real complaint is that it's fairly bumpy in some spots, and it can be a tad confusing navigating the sidewalks to get between the old high school and Huroc Park in Flat Rock if you're not familiar with the area.
I use this frequently on my daily workouts, and it's in pretty good condition, and plenty wide.
A well-maintained trail that's great for a casual stroll through Rockwood and Mercure Park. The northern section along Woodruff Road also serves as part of the connector between Lake Erie Metropark and Flat Rock/Oakwoods Metropark.
Great trail with nice river scenery, easy access to Metropark amenities and picnic spots along the way. It also connects at the south end to Huroc Park and eventually Lake Erie, and to the I-275 Metro Trail between Willow and Lower Huron Metroparks. Great ride for anyone of any age!
