Very dirty seemed to be people hanging out, possibly living on the trail. A few tents. Sketchy surroundings would not ride alone.
The trail was about 10’ wide And definitely no bathrooms. Very desolate very very few people around we went on a Saturday afternoon. Cloudy it probably would’ve been hot if the sun was out it was 75 and cloudy if you like cows and trees you would enjoy it. We went about 7 miles and turned around. We sort of liked this path but other than that it was boring I thought and so did my wife. We started on the south end by Auburndale Trail and continued on to this trail about
Yes it is a short trail. Start on other side of 19 is best.Very popular for just spending a day riding and shops and restaurants to choose from along this easy route.
After years of traveling to Central Florida to visit theme parks, this December I convinced my family to spend a day on bikes as a break. We rented four bikes from Bikes and Blades at the Killarney Station and rode almost halfway (10 miles) down the trail towards Apopka. The width of the trail was superb for family bike riding, with a smooth asphalt surface throughout. Signage was clear and easy to follow. Downtown Winter Garden is a true gem. We stopped on the way back, parked our bikes and explored the many restaurant and shops. I plan to come back and ride the full length of the trail, including the connections to Lake County to the west.
I’ve skated this trail so many times. Brought my speed teammates out here and they enjoyed it. Seen a bobcat before. Lots of deer. Such a smooth and fun trail
Loved this trail. Overall, I would rate the pavement quality as being very good. Yes there are some bumps and lumps, but that is to be expected when you’re riding deep under tree canopy. And yes, there are some hills! But this is central FL! expected for Central Florida.
Not the longest trail (about 6.5 miles) but a really enjoyable one. Starts in Starkey Wilderness Park, which is worth a visit on it's own. The trail runs from the park and eventually through some scrub. Watch for deer, fox squirrels and even alligators. At the end of the trail is a nice surprise...a new bathroom and water station (built in 2023). The trail ends at this station as it intersects with the Suncoast Trail. You'll be out in the sun for much of the ride, but the surface is smooth and the further you get from the park, the fewer people you will see.
We ride from the bike trailhead inside the park to the Suncoast trail. It’s right around 6.5 miles each way. Nice and smooth trail with many people using the trail with different modalities. Spotty shade before noon, would be pretty much full sun midday.
Gorgeous trail. A lot of wild life. Boars, gators, deer, birds, cows. You’d see it all. Most of the trail is very well maintained. A small part at the beginning of trail is a bit bumpy. Definitely worth the ride.
A great trail. Shady-stores-places to eat. Busy but I found the walkers very friendly. A must ride
