Dry Creek Trail (Peggy Mensinger Trail)

Great ride for young children on their own. Keep an eye out for homeless, garbage, and the smell. Beyond that, it's a great ride. Though needs a little greenery.

Coyote Creek Trail

trail nice, but people make it feel unsafe

July, 2023 by vdreyer612

Trail is nice and well maintained but in the broad daylight, kind of shady with a considerable presence of homeless people by the Tully trailhead. Even carrying pepper spray, as a smaller young woman I felt kind of unsafe and was approached. The northern part of the trail (passes by a bunch of Amazon warehouses) does not have this issue but the stretch is much shorter. Would not come back here alone, or maybe at all. It’s a shame, because the trail itself is great, mostly flat, and scenic. Too Bad s

Coyote Creek Trail

Nicer / less traffic the further south you get

September, 2022 by milocat125

I've mostly ridden the section between Hellyer Park and the Coyote Creek visitor center / Malaguerra Ave (great free parking). A superb ride with far less traffic than the Los Gatos trail. A couple of weeks ago I parked at the Tully Rd lot and took it south. I was a little creeped out about leaving my truck there and the number of homeless encampments from Tully south about a mile. I won't do that again. Another good parking place is the free dirt lot "Coyote Creek Trail Parking at Metcalf" on google maps.

Great Ride! Love the distance of this Trail

May, 2022 by lewis.jason10

Riders and walkers be on ALERT!!!! Encountered two rattlesnakes on the trail but love all 44 miles of the trail. Great trail to disconnect from the urban concrete streets of San Jose. Oh yeah, nature at its BEST!!

Coyote Creek Trail

beautiful San Jose trail!

August, 2021 by yxmcm6v459

I have ridden this trail three times. Each time has been a great experience! This afternoon, I stopped in at coyote creek golf course for lunch and it was great! I enjoy watching the r/c airplanes and love going to Anderson reservoir at the end. It’s a great ride and can’t wait for winter!

Guadalupe River Trail

southern end of the trail is smelly, broken glass, & trash

August, 2021 by hobbies

Avoid the southern end of the trail from West Virginia street to Park Ave. the trail has significant trash, broken glass and smells of human waste. This is not a pleasant ride.

Highway 87 Bikeway

Interesting, long stretches of street driving

July, 2021 by molsen7

So, I'm glad this trail exists, and I really wish it was a bit better maintained, but in comparison with other trails in the area, it has some significant street riding. I did the entire trail, and it was nice, but there's more possibility of car interaction than I care for.

That said, if I needed to get up from one end of the trail to the other on a bike, this is a great way to go. I just prefer having no interactions where a car has a chance to cause me a bad day. Could get to a caltrain station, if that were necessary, and that's a positive.

Manteca Tidewater Bikeway

road bikes with thin tires…stay away

June, 2021 by zamoragil.oz

Way to much gravel on the trail. Also, large cracks through paved areas.

Los Gatos Creek Trail

Love, love, LOVED this trail/ride!!!

June, 2021 by sw7inc

My husband and I stumbled up on this on YouTube. After watching a few rides we decided to go up and take a look, so thankful we did! Our ebikes would love this trip....even though it was supposed to be 99° that day. Once we were on the trail we were happily surprised we started at the Lexington reservoir. It was a bit of gravel but it was just fine then it turned to the pavement and there was a few wooden bridges it was quite delightful shady and beautiful along the creek in the water we couldn’t say enough things nice things about this right. We used our electric bikes. We went on a Thursday morning
