Whether you’re walking or biking, this trail is a smooth path, mostly paved, and filled with wildlife and gorgeous wildflowers, water, and benches for a rest or talk! The overpass over the highway, is a great option for a cycling challenge, on this mostly flat ride.
Started in Rochester due to slight incline to Lake Orion. Park in municipal lot as website says. We had to download the map to find exact start just over footbridge. Had lunch at Paint Creek Cider Mill. Trail very well maintained and shady.
We started at Whitmore Lake Road and biked 3 miles past Gregory. The parts of the trail that are paved are excellent. And road bike worthy. The crushed stone path is also very well-kept. There are some leaves and debris across the trail but nothing alarming. My husband and I were on mountain bikes. However, we saw many people on road bikes on the crushed stone. Beautiful scenery. We will ride this again.
Scenery is beautiful but the asphalt is in terrible condition—big bumps, cracks, tree root damage, etc. I ride lots of trails, but I won’t ride this one again unless/until it has a major overhaul. Pls pls fix the trail!!
We rode this a few years ago and the bumps and cracks made it less than desirable. New pavement made it nice and smooth.
Great trail for a long ride thru the woods. Plenty of shade with a little sun as well. Can’t wait until fall to see all the beautiful colors that it will bring to this ride.
Great ride by lakes and through the woods. A few hills and beautiful scenery. You might even see some horses out grazing.
Pretty trail that’ follows along the river. We staged in Hudson Mill and added a loop around the park. You have to walk your bike through downtown Dexter (signs postings) to get to the connecting trail that goes in to Dexter Huron. Need more signs to point the way. Otherwise a great bike trail with plenty of views and shade.
I think this is a pretty nice trail. You can go a lot of places here and have a nice long walk or run. :) great place.
My 13 year old son and I came here today and we loved it. The trail was very well kept and had some good incline on some parts. We did a total of almost 11 miles (to a certain point and turning around) and just loved it. Some parts of the trail are pretty wide which makes it easier for passers. The trail wasn’t too busy either. Beware though. This trail is VERY dusty. My son got dust in his eyes several times and his allergies were kicking his butt. The up side to all the dust on the trail was the satisfaction of rinsing our bikes with the hose afterwards ¿ Great scenic trail! Highly recommend. I will be coming back. J
