Be very careful on this ride. There is minimal separation from vehicles, and there are lots of commercial vehicles, like lawn care, pool, care, remodeling, etc. Even though you were close to the water, you rarely see water.
One of the other reviews mentions “the views on top” of the bridge. The trail does NOT go up the Skyway Bridge, but stops well short of the beginning of the incline. Do not be misled by that statement.
Simple paved trail around the lake. Enjoyed watching the rowing practice and the wildlife (birds). Lots of people biking and walking but plenty of room!
Rollerskated this entire trail. The first mile was amazing asphalt quality. It’s gets a little rough, but never intolerable. Lots of amazing views and great nature. Saw iguanas & manatees by the fishing pier at the end. Just a few intersections but they aren’t too busy. A couple clean facilities along the trail with restrooms & water fountains. Very neat trail and would recommend!
We just finished about 14 miles (round trip) yesterday. We really enjoyed it even though we encountered a little rain. Trail is straight, smooth, and well kept. We also rode the Boca Grande, not a fan! If you want a nice ride, ride the Cape Haze.
This was our first time and we came on Fathers Day Sunday and arrived around 12pm and parked at Ben T Walton beach I think it was called and it was perfect spot to unload our e-bikes and ride. Parking was $7 for 4 hrs but we were done in 2 but it was really nice and the breeze off the water kept us cool! We were gonna hit the beach after but we needed to get home but u def could have done both! Also we loved it because there was hardly anyone on it :)
This section of trial was alive with people and activities on a Saturday evening. Walking was perfect, too crowded for anything else.
Well marked trail. Do have to cross over Drew St and 60, which can be a bit hazardous. Out in the open, no shade. Connects to the Ream Wilson Trail at the ballpark.
