Biscayne Trail

short smooth family ride

July, 2020 by d.dyer1

This trail is short, smooth and great for walking, running, skating and riding. Making a loop from Biscayne National Park’s public parking lot to the Old Cutler Road trail to the Black Creek Trail is fun for the family. The loop is about 8 miles and can be a fun morning excursion for the whole family. One can add another mile by riding out to the point and getting that great picture to send to the family of the family. Good fun.

Great Ride

Nice protected trail. If you go early in the morning you get bunch of shade from the trees.

Black Creek Trail (Miami-Dade)

Nice smooth ride

July, 2020 by d.dyer1

This is a great get away from hectic city life, while still staying close to home. Parking can be found at Larry and Penny Thompson Park, 12451 SW 184th St, Miami, FL 33177 (which has fun little trails to ride as well.) The trail head is close by and takes one on a peaceful journey through south Miami-Dade county. If there were less street crossings, I would have given 5 stars. Worth checking this trail out. Bring the family because it is well worth the outing.

Snapper Creek Trail

only if you live close

July, 2020 by d.dyer1

Not well maintained. Lots of broken up asphalt by tree roots. Worth walking, biking okay, yet trail too short; but not good for in-line skates.

Snapper Creek Trail

Short and not well maintained

July, 2020 by davidlussierdyer

This is a walking trail. Although one could bike or in-line skate; the trail pavement is broken up in places due to tree roots and it has not been maintained enough for this to be a smooth ride or skate.

Black Creek Trail (Miami-Dade)

good smooth ride

July, 2020 by davidlussierdyer

I enjoyed the ride. Just remember to bring ample water.

Florida Keys Overseas Heritage Trail

horrible and dangerous

July, 2020 by pi1

Does not qualify as trail. A good portion of it is just a sidewalk, you share most of the bridges with 60mph vehicles, unprotected, riding over debris. It is extremely noisy and stressful. The path crosses us1 at random spots. On a busy day it can take you up to 10 minutes. Long key bridge (a separate 2.2 miles of pedestrian/fishermen/bicycle only) would have been great if only it weren’t full of trash. Skip this one altogether. Not worth your like.

Black Creek Trail (Miami-Dade)

Great ride

Great & easy going ride. Trail is smooth and wide enough for everyone. Only downside is that you have to stop every certain distance to cross the street.

M-Path Trail

Okay Trail

Good length but not good for a road Bike.

Rickenbacker Trail

Detour off busy highway to Bear Cut Preserve

February, 2020 by rdavies

If you want a more peaceful ride, detour off the main trail at Bear Cut Preserve, then take the Crandon Park roads by the beach to the lighthouse. You can visit the old zoo and see the kite surfers and not deal with so much traffic.
