Holmes County Trail

Started in Glenmont

August, 2026 by deniz

Rode west toward Brinkhaven. The first 4 miles are very uphill. Got to the crest, saw it was downhill, and decided to turn back rather than having to repeat an uphill climb on the return trip. Then rode east til the off road trail ended ( about 4 miles ). Level path, much better, and called it a day ! Lots of e-bike riders in the parking lot.

Richland B&O Trail

Closed north of MM 13 til October

August, 2026 by deniz

Don't know how far past it is closed. Parked in Butler and rode to MM 10. Slight uphill going north. The next day parked in Lexington, and planned on riding to Mansfield. But came to the trail closure, repairing an adjacent road bridge. May have been a nice ride . . .

New London-Greenwich Rail Trail

Surprising Events You'll Find

August, 2026 by lauxes305

We really enjoyed this trail. It checked all the boxes for me!! It was mostly shady with trees/woods lining most of the trail, benches to rest, flat, no hills, 14 total miles, lovely scenery, a train track running along side, and a small town at the end of the trail head to shop or eat. Even though it had rough gravel in spots, knowing it is still being worked on, I give it a 5/5. When the trail is completed I think it will be near perfect. We started in Greenwich and ended in New London. We rode around town and found the beautiful New London Recreation Park at 2 Blake St. We had a nice picnic and the park had very clean bathrooms. A horse arena was built there in 2025, and as our extra bonus, they happened to be having an event that day. I love riding bikes, but sometimes the best part of the trails are the surprises you'll find along the way,

Conotton Creek Trail

Great Trail

August, 2026 by z55cc749n9

First time for riding the Conotton creek trail and we really liked it. The best place to park is on the Jewett end. Nice and flat, pavement in great shape and bathrooms long the way. We will definitely ride this trail again.

Holmes County Trail

Glenmont to Brinkhaven

July, 2026 by vicki1960

We biked from Glenmont to Brinkhaven. Coming out of Glenmont it's a 3 1/2 mile uphill climb to Baddow Pass. Then 4 miles downhill the other side where it levels off before going under Route 62. We stayed on the trail to connect seamlessly to the Mohican Valley Trail. Pan Ohio Hope American Cancer Society was having their annual ride that day and we saw some riders. The trail is in very good paved condition.

Mohican Valley Trail

July 2026 Ride

July, 2026 by vicki1960

We accessed this trail from the Holmes County line. Seamless connection onto the Mohican Valley Trail at the Knox County line in Brinkhaven. Surface is paved in good condition. Trail is shared with Amish horse & buggy's. This is a great connection between the Holmes County Trail and the Kokosing Gap trail in Danville.

Ohio to Erie Trail

Made up of many trails

This "trail" is made up of many smaller trails and some of it is on roads. Do as much research on this as you can before your trip!

Kokosing Gap Trail

7/30/26

July, 2026 by blarnold

Parked in Danville and biked over to Mt Vernon. Had lunch at Southside Diner. Walked up into Mt Vernon and visited some shops. Grand Hotel is beautiful. Trail was paved. Mostly flat. A bit downhill on the return trip. Lots to see and beautiful scenery!

Downtown Connector Trail

Comes in handy

July, 2026 by vicki1960

We use this trail as a go between the Kokosing Gap Trail and the Heart of Ohio trail in Mt. Vernon. When in Mt. Vernon there is the old train station/welcome center with restrooms open bankers hours. Be sure to visit Ariel Foundation Park 1/2 mile from the Mt. Vernon train station welcome center. Many eateries near this trail. We went to the Southside Diner this time.

Kokosing Gap Trail

This is a great trail!

July, 2026 by vicki1960

We travel over 3 hours to get to every year and stay in the area. Trail runs from Mt. Vernon to Danville. Connects to other trails at each end. This trail is paved in good to fair condition. There was a closure on the trail near Kenyan College approx mile marker 4. Word is they are doing repairs before a near future repave. We will see next year when we come back. Most of the trail is well shaded but some of it goes through open farmlands. Take the Mt. Vernon Connector and there are numerous places to eat next to the trail. While in the area visit Berlin Amish Country. All in all this trail is one of our favorites!

Holmes County Trail

They repaired the potholes & ruts but this trail is a very high traffic area.

July, 2026 by vicki1960

Since our last visit in 2022 they recently have repaired the ruts and potholes. Not a complete repave but a good job fixing up the mess. But from Holmesville to Fredericksburg there still are some cracks with grass growing up and a rut down the middle so stay to the side. This trail is a thruway for the locals to get from town to town. Heavy traffic even on a weekday. Didn't see many regular manual pedal bikes or even pedal assist but large class ebikes and scooters and some as large as small motorcycles. They sound like golf carts when passing using their throttles. It's not a very quiet and relaxing trail. The speed limit is supposed to be 20 mph that's a joke because if these "machines" can reach speeds beyond that, then the trail users are gonna use all the power they have. Only saw one Amish horse and buggy. I know they're out there because they already chewed up the new pavement sections that have been recently repaired. Most of the trail is shaded. At the Killbuck end construction workers are working on the trail segment thru town. We biked Fredericksburg to Killbuck and back, 30 mile round trip. Several parking areas along the way.
