Cardinal Greenway

Great Bike Ride!

September, 2026 by westrichdave

My wife and I rode on the Cardinal Trail from the southern end at Richmond up to Economy. We really enjoyed the most southern end from Richmond to Williamsburg. If you walk or ride this part of the trail, you will enjoy much shade from the overhang trees. It’s not a straight path either with some turns so that it has a little character to it. The pavement is in decent shape, although there are a few bumps along the way. However, it appears that trail maintenance is trying to minimize those root bumps. We truly enjoyed our bike ride today and would recommend other bike enthusiasts to get out there and enjoy the cardinal trail.

Paint Creek Recreation Trail

Pretty scenery but a rough ride - this trail needs resurfaced

September, 2026 by jason.zerkle

The scenery is nice with lots of shade and hints of the foothills in the distance in some areas. Much of the trail is super bumpy and not great on a road bike. The root incursions have been recently ground flat but they’re still rough. There are long sections with many many cracks - some of the cracks are a couple inches wide. Most of the bridge transitions are mismatched with sunken pavement. The trail also hasn’t been cleared off when we ride today - lots of leaves sticks and nuts that are difficult to see at times with the dappled light from the surrounding trees. Once this trail gets resurfaced, it will be fantastic. Until then, it’s walking or mountain biking.

Whitewater Gorge Trail

Beautiful Trail

September, 2026 by westrichdave

The Whitewater River Gorge Trail is short, but sweet! Despite heavy rains recently, and some mud from those rains across the path, this is a beautiful walk or ride. My wife and I found the trail accidentally at the southern end of the Cardinal Trail. We were so happy that we took this bike ride because it has lots of character and foliage to enjoy. You will cross a couple of bridges across the west Fork of the Whitewater river and wind your way down to an overlook at the end. You can stop and enjoy the stream there before you ride or walk back to the Cardinal Trail.

Great American Rail-Trail

Lovely Ride!

September, 2026 by l_digby

We rode the GAP from Cedar Creek Park to the Boston trailhead at the base of the Historic Boston Bridge and back. About 36 miles round trip. What a great ride. Smooth trail with lots of benches and several picnic areas and toilet facilities. Well maintained. Passed through several little communities along the trail. No major highways and very few little roads to cross making it very safe. Got a delicious huge “medium” size ice cream cone at the “Big Twist” in Blythedale, right off the trail. Highly recommend this ride!

Cardinal Greenway

Disappointed

This is probably one of the most boring trails we’ve ridden. There aren’t even any cute little towns along the way to ride into and stop for lunch! ¿¿¿¿

Little Miami Scenic Trail

An Amazing Trail System In Ohio

August, 2026 by 6gfqq9fj45

I've ridden the LMST on average over 2,000 miles the past three years on my Aventon ebike. I enter the bike trail normally at Cartridge Brewing by riding the down the hill from Kings Island which is part of the city of Mason bike path system.

I've ridden to downtown Cincinnati, north to Springfield and created my own u-shaped ride from Loveland, OH to Xenia Station connecting to the Creek Trail west to downtown Dayton in order to access the Great Miami Bike Trail south all the way south to Trenton, OH (a 104.5 mi. ride).

2026 has had a few challenges as many sections of the trail north out of Loveland have undergone a refresh with digging out entire sections of the trail and blacktopping them anew. It's been fun to figure out how to circumvent these trail closings. I have gone off trail at South Lebanon where the trail is closed and followed Main Street into town and made a right on Mason Millgrove Road to arrive in a few miles at the next opening of the trail at Stub Mills Road just south of Morrow.

I'm thankful that I live in a state that supports an extensive bike trail system.

Tree across the path 1.5 miles outside Xenia heading toward Spring Valley. You need to get off the bike and move around it.

Trail is now open from Chillicothe into Washington Court House. Repairs have been completed to the two erosion closures. Many cracks in the pavement have been repaired but some remain.

Camp Chase Trail

Lots of trash, drug use, trail hazards

July, 2026 by natureschild1

From Eureka Ave to Hollywood Casino don’t ride alone, be cautious of trail hazards. I encountered between 10 & 15 individuals sitting on and around the trail using heavy narcotics, ‘on the nod’, plus two girls between 8 & 10 yrs of age sitting on the trail smoking weed. On my return I rounded a curve at high speed and almost collided with a car in mid path with its trunk open and two women standing at the trunk. A bike was laying across the path as well blocking all pavement. So much garbage, shopping carts, and scrap metal in the path. My co-rider hit something they didn’t see that sliced his tire. So many homeless camps along the path. Definitely not the 5 star, pretty ride described in the comments. I would ride the rest of the trail again but will never again ride between Eureka Ave. and Hollywood Casino.

Ohio to Erie Trail

Made up of many trails

This "trail" is made up of many smaller trails and some of it is on roads. Do as much research on this as you can before your trip!

Lebanon Countryside YMCA Trail

Nice 8+ Mile trail but has some hills

July, 2026 by jrmc21

Trail in good shape. Goes from downtown Lebanon to the main bike trail from Cincy to Cleveland. It is hilly in places and many downhills end at a road crossing stop sign - so be prepared. I did this trail after an enjoyable ride on the Lebanon Mason Monroe Railroad.
