UC Davis Arboretum and Putah Creek Trails

extra stars because it was pretty

DO NOT plan to use this trail with inline skates. It was a disaster. Unless you own all terrain skates, these paths are better for walking, cycling.

Just a heads up that this town basically burnt to the ground a few years back. They are rebuilding, but all these amenities listed may no longer exist.

Sacramento Northern Bikeway

Flat, decent ride w/lots of shade

June, 2021 by kimgerly

There were a number of traffic crossings, which can slow one down. But there are actually nice stretches without too much foot traffic, so one can grind hard if a sprint interval workout is the aim. Signage going southbound could be much better marked/made available.

Sure, there are a lot of homeless encampments--now I know where a great deal of the downtown curbside community folks have relocated. However, I found the curbside community folks to be friendly, and will acknowledge one/reciprocate if one pays them respect with a 'Hi/Hello' or a wave--they are human beings after all who have fallen on hard times. They'll even provide recommendations on scenic ride directions off this artery. But if one would prefer to be full of fear, best ride earlier in the day, after sunup, when these folks are likely napping and out of sight.

Sacramento Northern Bikeway

Sketchy

Although there are some historic elements to the trail, do not let the sun go down on ya.

Pleasant Grove Creek Trail

Great January trip!

January, 2021 by jyoung8307

My son and I rode this trail. It is well kept, and just enough curves to keep the ride from getting boring. It was busy on this particular beautiful January day.

Yolo Causeway Bike Path

Shade?!?

September, 2020 by filegod

The only shade is from mosquitoes, there was no water, restrooms or benches, just call it a different view of the bypass with plenty of noise from the freeway, I turned back towards Sacramento about as soon as I crossed the bypass, my brother went into Davis, I think most of the riders that use it live in Davis and I guess it gets used by commuters, do not expect it to be nice as the American River Bike Trail...

Pleasant Grove Creek Trail

Nice but short trail.

August, 2020 by kctmatsu

We started at William Hughes park. The park doesn’t have much parking so on weekends you may have to park in the neighborhood. You’ll see both families walking as well as bikers from the neighborhoods on this trail. The trail is rather short but nicely paved and not a lot of hills. While riding saw several riders going back and forth on my ride.
