I really love doing this trail with my road bike, although it is quite hilly and a bit of work if that's what you're looking for! It is nicely paved and roomy for biking. It's hilly regardless of which end you start at (in other words it's not just one incline). I prefer to start at the Richmond Road end because I find that direction a little more difficult (then loop around and head back). Although if you start at the other end you can get the REALLY big hill out of the way first and enjoy coasting down it when you're done.
Anyway, great exercise trail - not one that I would bike if I were looking for a "stroll" so to speak.
Signs of Spring....trees budding and turning green. Didn't see many wildflowers yet. Saw one snake. Parked in Orwell and biked 17 miles North to Austinburg and back. Trail in good condition. Coming back it was kind of windy but when the cornfields are up and there's more leaves on the trees the windy days will be blocked by that. Great trail.
The trail through Ashtabula county is nice just dont go too far south of State Route 305 (Mosquito Lake area) The closer you get to Warren the more garbage and broken glass you will find all over the trail.
This is an awesome scenic ride (very flat), but very short. It is fantastic for scenic exercise (went back and forth a few times)
Nice warm Spring day to take in the entire length of the trail and the connecting Niles Greenway for a total of 30 miles round trip. Trail has some gradual inclined sections .
Short, easy ride. However, there is a lot of household trash and furniture that has been dumped along this trail.
wonderful trip across America
It is a great trail firstly. A dangerous crossing , caused by a hill is on turner S. Turner Rd.? It could be safer by warning motorists the path is there? In my humble opinion. Maybe solar lights? Thank you for your time.
Rode the entire length of the trail through Ashtabula County to the Trumbull County line. Parked at mile 2 in Orwell and biked 24 miles up to Ashtabula and back and then down to the Ashtabula/Trumbull County line.
Trail is in very good paved condition and cleared of leaves.
Ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant steps away from the trail in Orwell. They are biker friendly. Even offer outdoor seating if you want to keep and eye on your bike.
We had a very warm Fall and it was great to get out and enjoy a fall ride. Biked from Countyline (Trumbull and Mahoning Counties) to Western Reserve in Canfield and back for a 25 mile round trip. Nice trail. The newly constructed tunnel under the OH turnpike is open. It's very nicely lit as well.
Dedicated trail now goes through Chardon. Looks like it opened very recently. A great addition to an all-around terrific trail. Among the best ib NE Ohio.
Very nice trail. 15 miles round trip. We started in Garrettsville and rode toward Mantua. Beautiful, especially in the fall with all the leaves falling. The trail is primarily flat; however, there is the slightest uphill grade going toward Mantua. Parking easy to find and both towns at each end of trail are very quaint. I would definitely recommend this trail to all levels of bike riders, along with families with small kids.
