We parked at Kirk Road and biked to the Mahoning/Trumbull County line and picked up the Niles Bikeway into Niles for additional miles. MetroParks Bikeway has been repaved within the past few years, surface good. Not a whole lot of shade though. There is a bike rental at the Kirk Road trailhead. Also sells bottled water. We headed towards Canfield on the trail in the opposite direction. Great trail!
We biked on this trail coming seamlessly off the Metro Parks trail. This trail begins at Countyline....the Mahoning and Trumbull County lines. Trail is asphalt paved in good condition. One busy road crossing just below Meander Reservoir. At the Niles trailhead the trail extends 2/10 of a mile over at least one bridge. Eventually it will connect with the Western Reserve Trail in Warren.
This "trail" is made up of many smaller trails and some of it is on roads. Do as much research on this as you can before your trip!
Nice community trail that links to a beautiful park for kids. Nice ride if you’re in the neighborhood.
Trail is opened there are no closures at the utility pipeline construction site. Mile marker 2. All clear! July, 2026.
Hats off to Portage County for repaving last year and redoing the RR crossing near Ravenna. Whether it was the RR or the County you did a fantastic job on a hazardous crossing. Very nice trail. Hopefully it gets extended east
This trail is full of curves and gentle hills. And absolute good time to ride. An electric bike with assist is recommended.
Before the Canadian wildfire smoke got worse, we ventured out for a morning ride. Air quality bad but not "as bad" as it got. Hazy skies and the slight smell of burned plastic. The well shaded trail filtered out a lot of it. Trail closure at the 2 mile mark. 1 mile from the Beans trailhead. They have been working on a pipeline near the trail which you could see from the trail and the trail had been open. But now they are working under the trail and there is no way to get around the construction so it's fenced off. Not sure how long they will be working in that spot. In the meantime the remainder of the trail is open.
This trail is wider, better kept condition than adjacent Ohio to Erie trail, probably can be muddy during wet weather I enjoyed the ride, well marked!
Always great to visit this trail and enjoy the Linesville Spillway, where the ducks walk on the fish! Trail is flat and paved and follows Pymatuning Lake withing Pymatuning State Park. The trail also goes by the Fish hatchery. Plenty of other park activities as well. The trail runs from Fries Road in Linesville to South Chestnut Street in Linesville but plans are in the making to continue the trail from South Chestnut to South Townville Road. Not a lot of shade on this trail, bring sunscreen. While in the area, just 10 minutes away is the Pymatuning Valley Greenway Trail. July, 2026.
Enjoyed our ride along this trail. Doesn't offer much shade but the scenery is fields of corn and other crops and working farms. We parked at the police station in Andover and biked to Leon Road and back, then zig-zagged through town (Andover) and biked the Southern section from Mill Street to Marvin Road. Out and back is approx 12-13 miles. Always a great ride along this trail which is less than 2 years old. While in the area, about 10 minutes away is the Spillway Trail in Linesville, PA. July, 2026.
