Heritage Rail-Trail

53 mins TnB

November, 2017 by randyeldridge2

Good trail for biking. A great use for an older trail. Some roots are poking up at the end but generally smooth and flat

Camp Chase Trail

Great condition, lots of miles and not crowded

October, 2017 by 2cvmail

Great way to get in and out of the city, and it’s fairly scenic once you get outside the city. A rails w/trails, so it’s straight and flat and great for biking.

Camp Chase Trail is a new part of the 320 mile Ohio-to-Erie Trail, and this section is much less crowded than other popular bike trails in Columbus.

Wilson Road Park has seasonal bathrooms, a bike repair station and a water fountain, and there is also bike repair stations at Wilson Rd Park and at the base of the Hilltop Connector Bridge.

Columbus Westside Running Club maintains the Trail with monthly litter cleanups. Give it a try if you haven’t already!

Alum Creek Greenway Trail

Nice trail through metro areas

October, 2017 by fhunker

Very pretty trail from Westerville south to Three Creeks Park. A trail of bridges--more than other local trails for the distance travelled. So far, in good shape, but much of this trail is new so one would expect it to be. Far less traffic than the Olentangy Trail to the west, so for a north-south route in the metro Columbus area, hard to beat.

T. J. Evans Trail

Nice trail but road bikers beware

October, 2017 by fhunker

I have been on this trail three or four times this summer and fall, and many times over the past several years. I would rate this trail a 4-5 BUT on a road bike, will not be a smooth ride, and now developing some serious bumps, one of which west of Granville caught me off-guard and almost threw me off. Parts of the trail have been repaved-those sections are very nice compared to some that have not been repaved. There is a long uphill grade out of Granville to Johnstown, about 11 miles. Hopefully more of the trail will be repaved into 2018.

Buckeye Scenic Trail

Nice 11 mile round-trip

October, 2017 by fhunker

This trail runs north-south, with more uphill grade heading south than north. The first couple of miles from the north run through rural suburban areas, then through farmland further south. Most of the trail is lined with bushes and trees, not much exposed out in the farmland area, so there is some natural blocking of easterly or westerly wind. Trail surface good, I was out on a very nice Sunday morning, passed 2 bikers, a jogger and a few dog-walkers. Light use.

Xenia-Jamestown Connector

New Jamestown B&B

October, 2017 by sheldyna

I had to tell all my friends about this! I hear there is a hotel motel or bed and breakfast and I think bike shop bike club opening right on the bike path Xenia Jamestown connector right on Verity St. & S. Church. That is so cool and convenient, we use to have to travel back to Xenia or Jeffersonville that is not on the east portion bike path. I will also be the first to try the inn, tent or room with hot water and soft bed and air conditioning or heat depending when I go.

Mohican Valley Trail

Bridge of Stink

September, 2017 by charlie 48

Road the Mohigan and Koskosing trails yesterday. The Bridge of Dream is in a class of its own. WHAT A MESS 1 Does anyone ever sweep it out ? Temperatures in the 80's, bridge full of "road apples" We all nearly lost our lunch. Even the trail leading up to it was a mess. I've shared the Holmes County Trail with horse many times. Never this kind of mess. People. Talk to your neighbor county and get some tip on trail maintenance.

Richland B&O Trail

My trip in video

September, 2017 by brian_switzer

I'm relatively new to biking so I was glad to see how easy it was to ride this trail. There certainly was a lot to see. So, I decided to make a video of my trip and posted it on my You Tube channel. Two thumbs up for the Richland B&O Trail. https://youtu.be/0LHhB_RBfS0

Mohican Valley Trail

Mohican to Holmes County trail

September, 2017 by fhunker

Just rode from Mt Vernon to the eastern "end" of the Holmes County trail, round trip about 52 miles. Kokosing-Mohican-Holmes County trails are one of my favorite trial rides in Ohio. Lots of shade most of the way, and the Bridge of Dreams is very nice.

Olentangy Trail

Great bike trail

September, 2017 by fish_boat

We went to Columbus for a few days and my son took me to the Olentangy Bike Path. What a great path for biking, jogging or just walking. We road bikes. We decided to do the whole trail. Where we parked we went south till the trail turned into the Scioto Greenway Trail. Turned back there and when we got back to where we parked we went north till the trail was closed between Worthington Hills Park and Olentangy River. That section is supposed to be open in late 2017. Great scenery. Through wooded areas, past soccer fields, over bridges, under roads and past the Ohio State University campus. All together we road 24 miles. Just one small criticism. There are a couple places where you could get confused which way to go if you never road this trail before. My son has road it many times so it was not a problem for us. I highly recommend taking this trail if you are in the Columbus area. I know I will ride this again in the future

Simon Kenton Trail

Nice Trail

August, 2017 by lawrence6557

Rode from Urbana to Springfield. Nice, flat paved trail. Very little traffic in the middle of the week. Easy trail to ride.

T. J. Evans Panhandle Trail

Nice flat trail

August, 2017 by katfish1171

Rode it last week from Dayton Rd. to Longaberger Golf Course. I didn't notice much debris on trail. I just wish there was a more direct entrance from Hanover. I also enjoy the scenery on this trail. I think it was smart and probably economically efficient to build along a existing railroad. The chainlink fence separates the two.
