Too Crowded, Too Many Bumps, Too Many Idiots

August, 2021 by paleoman1954

I've ridden this trail quite a few times in the past and did it again today. There are places where one has to be holding on firmly with both hands when some of the bumps are hit, otherwise a wreck could be imminent. I experienced this 5-6 times, mostly in the woods where you can't see the root bumps. Also I had 3 separate encounters with other bikers who were riding straight at me in my lane on 3 of the big curves on the trail. I don't plan on riding this one again any time soon, as there are other trails in central Ohio that I like better.

Lima Rotary Riverwalk

Lima area gem!

August, 2021 by dvbtr55ft4

Really enjoyed the variety of scenery as well as different riding types along this trail, overall it was in pretty good condition! Will definitely ride this again!

Lima Rotary Riverwalk

Nice mixture of scenery

We are both new to this app and some of the trail riding. We both really enjoyed this trail as a nice mixture of scenery and riding types. Trail could use some minor maintenance.

Great Trail

Rode 16 miles of this trail. My only suggestion would be to add more signs so first timers like me don’t get lost.

Miami & Erie Canal Towpath

Misleading Description

July, 2021 by dgarrick

I had difficulty finding a parking area near Delphos - mainly because there is no trail head there. I found a nice park in Spencerville next to the trail, but was disappointed that the trail end shortly south of there. You would need to follow roads to complete 40 miles. Spencerville to Delphos was a nice flat crushed stone trail, but ended abruptly at someone’s back yard. As another review mentioned - a diamond in the rough, will be a great trail as more miles are finished.

Scioto Greenway Trail

Nice trail with plenty of stops and some pumps and water also always getting improved in the heart of the Buckeye state!

Darby Creek Trail

Good for a hybrid, road bikes beware.

July, 2021 by edm2dccixh

Did the southern portion of the trail today. From the parking lot/trail head it was 4.5 miles to the north where the trail ends. Other reviewers we're correct, there is almost no shade after you complete the first little bit of the trail. Trail condition: The vast majority of the path was a crushed, compacted limestone that was in decent shape. There were a few spots however where the stone was 1 to 1-1/2 inch gravel. Road bikes, or bikes that like asphalt would not do well. If you go be sure to check out The Track; neat bit of history.

Marion Tallgrass Trail

My happy place!

July, 2021 by danshelly

I cycle this trail several times a week, year round. It's quiet and peaceful, a corridor of nature. Two weeks ago a large owl flew in front of me and landed on a tree. I often see bald eagles near Marion Community Foundation Lake, and I spotted an osprey recently. In the last month I've seen a fox twice and many deer, including fawns. I've also seen a family of baby raccoons often the last few weeks.

I often stop for ice cream in downtown Marion after my ride, or add on a 13 mile loop from the west end of the trail to explore Hardin County's Amish Country on quiet roads.

A reviewer mentioned mosquitoes. These are sometimes a problem for walkers in the evening when there is not much breeze, but aren't a problem for me because they can't fly fast enough to catch a cyclist.

I especially love the tunnel under Riley Road, and the area just east and west of the tunnel. The sunsets over Marion Community Foundation Lake can be spectacular.

Heritage Rail-Trail

Goal reached

July, 2021 by jchandler79

Well I hit my goal of 60 miles taking 10 trips on the trail a few days before I hit the big 60. Took me 3hrs 40 min which for these old bones was good. It’s time to explore other trails.

Great Miami River Trail

small section from Trenton to Franklin

July, 2021 by geddythekitty

We were there in May of 2021, and they were adding a mile or so of trail along route 73, so you’ll don’t have to ride on the very busy road. It will connect the Trenton to Franklin parts of trail.

Heritage Rail-Trail

The trail became my friend

June, 2021 by jchandler79

Like many others when I had to start working from home a bike became my friend along with this trail. I started biking last June and stuck with it even layering up over the winter. This trail and I have seen all types of weather. It’s a welcome break after work to hit the trail. I have enjoyed racing the rabbits, dodging the deer and of course people walking their dogs. I’ve worked my way up to 6 consistent trips and am striving to hit 10 by my 60th birthday on 20 July this year!

Miami & Erie Canal Towpath

Spencerville to delphos

May, 2021 by millecs

The path is very nice! We found a nice parking lot/rest area on Zion church road. The path is kept up nicely and shaded most of the way with a tree line. One side is the canal/tree line and the other side is fenced nicely. The way the trees face it would block morning sun. We walked around 7pm. It took about an hour to walk for 4.5-5mile walk into Delphos. Be aware it does abruptly end and turn into grass by a trailer park, but it is easy to get to the road from there.
