I can only give a review on the Stockbridge area of the trail. I found the area lovely. I however took the wrong bike for the gravel section. The horse tracks caused a very bumpy ride. Really though very well cared for and no deep ruts for spring and horses. I plan to go back with Mt Bike and ride. Hiking would be perfect in this part of the trail too.
Title says it all. It's noisy because it's along the highway, it's hard to get to safely because there's no bike lanes or side walks along the fast roads that lead to it, and it just goes between the highway and industrial businesses. Methinks it's just there for advertising ("hey millennials we have trails! you like trails don't you?"). I guess that's why it is still relatively smooth and clean, because nobody can use it, so 2 starts, good job guys
I really appreciate the snow removal done by our maintainience crew. What a excellent trail we have for year round use. Thank you
Just a wide sidewalk beside a very busy road. Not well connected. Difficult to get to by bike from local area. No variety. No scenery. Very few trees.
Only good for transportation to Lake St Clair.
Rode this morning in the semi-cloudy drizzle and it was really great; the trail did not at all get too soft, and the rain helped to keep the dust down. Very well-maintained trail is a pleasure to ride. I went from Haggerty to the Telegraph Rd overpass and back again. Always a pleasure to ride this one.
My husband and I love riding trails with our hybrid bikes. We discovered a section of the Polly Ann Trail in Imlay City. When we came to the road near the high school, the rest of the trail was overgrown with weeds, grass, and trees. We decided the check out the other end of the paved section to discover the rest is very hard to find. If it continues on the road, it is full of chuck pits. How in the world can they boast the length of this trail and claim it is paved, asphalt, and stone?!?! It is past time to properly surface and mark the rest of it.
I used to ride this trail several years ago when it was new. While the trail surroundings are interesting, the trail itself is no longer suitable for road bikes due to the poor condition of the paving. It probably wouldn't be too bad if you have lower pressure fat tire bikes.
THE ABSOLUTE WORST trail I've ever ridden. One star is generous because I cannot rate it at 0 or minus stars. The entire trail is rougher than riding straight through the woods on no trail at all. Pavement sucks horribly. You know how people circle holes with spray paint? The entire trail needs to be circled. Teeth rattling ride so bad mouthguards are recommended
I entered the trail from the West Bloomfield trail. Turning to gravel at this point the trail ran through some quiet areas but just seemed a little overgrown and understaffed. I went all the way to Pontiac, and have give thanks to the LBS for fixing a chain for me. Great people. I only had to walk a couple of miles. Trail markers to get me back on the main section of trail were in good locations.
I started at Orchard Lake Rd and went North East to Pontiac on a Sunday afternoon. The trail is well kept. Some road crossings, but not too many to spoil the ride. The trail was moderately busy. Where it joins the Clinton River trail there is crushed gravel. I would ride it again. I did not make it to the South West end.
I rode this trail for the first time while in Novi for a work event. The trail was very rough on the majority of the trail and overgrown in some areas. I will not ride this trail next time I'm in town because it made my ride not very enjoyable. Hopefully they will give it some attention because it has the potential to be a decent trail.
