Withlacoochee Bay Trail

nice bike trail

May, 2020 by pjpala_tl

This is a really nice if fairly short trail. You ride alongside the river the whole time. There are many places to stop and have a look out and even a picnic. Good place to see wildlife (deer, turtles) and it was not crowded - just a handful of other riders.

Crosstown Trail (FL)

short, kind of dangerous trail

May, 2020 by pjpala_tl

You have to cross several streets - including a highway, during this brief trail. First half of it was not enjoyable at all, so we abandoned it and rode through town in a safer manner

General James A. Van Fleet State Trail

My favorite Central Florida Trail

May, 2020 by jamessimmons1006

There are several decent trails in this area, Cady Way, West Orange, etc but my favorite is the Van Fleet Trail. I know many find it to be a boring trail but I like the fact that it is never crazy crowded and hardly has any intersections so you can just ride and not have to worry about stopping all the time like West Orange. Combine this with the Auburndale Trail and round trip you can get around 72 miles in. Lots of critters to see as well. Deer, armadillos, snakes, raccoons, turtles owls, etc! Great to just put on head phones and ride!!

Withlacoochee State Trail

Very Boring

May, 2020 by siinomts

I was excited to checkout this trail on a a Saturday morning. I parked my car in the lot at mile marker 0 and rode to Floral city and back. Honestly, maybe wilderness rides are not for me. There’s almost a complete lack of water, restrooms and any places to stop off to get something to eat or drink. I was expecting some amazing views riding along the Withlacoochee none. Maybe the northern half of the trail has more to offer, but I definitely will not be going back again starting at mile marker 0

Seminole Wekiva Trail

Very Pretty; ideal for a long ride

May, 2020 by vivianasol08

My dad and I rode this trail yesterday. I was aiming to do about 28 miles since it says here it is only a 14 mile trail...we ended up making it to marker 16 before we turned back. I am not exactly sure how many miles there are, but it looked to be a lot longer than I initially thought. It was really well maintained, not hilly at all, and very pretty.

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Great Place to Ride

May, 2020 by franknorris321

I live about 35 miles south of Titusville but have driven there many times to ride the trail. I park in Veterans Memorial Park in Titusville on the river. From there it is only about a half mile to the trail head by the visitors center. Of course it is usually a longer ride if I am driving that far, like 40-60 miles. One I love is all the way to Osteen to eat breakfast at the Osteen Diner and back. That is just over 61 miles round trip. Heading down this trail, much of which is through the woods, on a cool morning with about a 7 AM start is the highlight of my week. (Note that from Titusville the first 5 miles or so crosses several roads but after Mims you are away from civilization and just enjoying nature).

East Central Regional Rail Trail

Wonderful Trail - Inconsiderate Bicyclists

May, 2020 by eunice49

We walk and ride (mostly walk) various segments of this wonderful trail as we are extremely fortunate to have it just minutes from our home. It is truly world-class; among the very best we have used across the country. And the recently installed awesome signage and mile markers are just icing on the cake. One aspect of signage is sadly lacking, however. Some simple reminders of trail safety rules and etiquette are sorely needed. We are routinely subjected to bikers riding two and even three abreast who force us to have to step off the trail - if coming towards us; or flying up behind us (usually with no passing notice) and leaving almost no room as they swerve around us. The problem has become much worse recently due to a lot of "amateurs" on the trail seeking relief from the virus situation who have no idea of the simple, common sense rules that are needed to keep us all safe. Volusia County has posted temporary signs directed mainly at COVID-19 distancing guidelines, but they are being mostly ignored. The problem escalates on weekends to the point we choose instead to walk neighborhoods with good sidewalk networks rather than put up with the frustration of dealing with too many rude, self-centered and uncaring bikers.

Hardy Trail

wonderful shorter trail through downtown Dade City

May, 2020 by suesuemo

My sister in law and I decided to go for a walk on this trail. Not knowing where to expect we were very pleasant surprised. The pathway is pretty shaded and certainly wide enough to do social distancing. There is an abundance of beautiful flora and even some fauna- an armadillo walked out in front of us, spotted a beautiful red cardinal, a large red tail hawk and quite an abundance of butterflies. Some people walking, some biking but definitely not overly populated. One feels as if they’re “out in the country” while being right in town. Would highly recommend this if you’re looking for a shorter walk

Ride this trail every morning

May, 2020 by photo 1

This is the nicest part of my day, have ridden it since the hard pack was down. Live just adjacent to the beginning in Edgewater. Been an avid supporter of rails to trails since the inception. Nice to see everybody enjoying it, families with kids, dogs etc, Only bummer sometimes are the road bikers can be very rude. This trail is for everybody to use. Thanks rails to trails, this has changed my life for the better.

Cady Way Trail

nice trail

Really nice trail with lots of benches and water fountains. You do have to cross busy traffic sometimes.
