Wabash Cannonball Trail

My biking pal & I did 15 miles today! Online maps made the trail look paved all the way to 109. But it went to grass & dirt after Oak Openings. It was a grand adventure anyways!

Not bad for an urban trail. Many street crossings and some travel in a residential area. The map was useful because the trail in those areas is not marked in any way. The crossings are well marked and there is a traffic light where the trail crosses Hwy 127 specifically for the trail. So kudos to the developers there. The trail has been extended so now it goes to and into Pokagon State Park. At least doubling the trail length. As an earlier reviewer stated there are some nice hills.

Lima Rotary Riverwalk

Very nice trail, but needs a little TLC.

I ride this trail frequently. It is a very nice trail, but it needs a little TLC. There are a few areas where tree roots are pushing up the asphalt and there are a couple other areas where holes need repaired. Very enjoyable otherwise.

North Coast Inland Trail (Sandusky and Ottawa Counties)

nice but needs rocks removed

July, 2019 by freakyacres

I've ridden it several times and there are very coarse rocks in places where trail parallels road. I was riding an urban bike with larger tires so I handled it ok. You people with road bikes will blow a tire. Be careful!

Nice trail

Very smooth, goes thru farms, small towns and some factories. Going east to west subtle down hill so a bit slower on the way back. Saw some nice summer birds. The trail crosses a number of country roads where vehicles travel at speed so be aware.

Love this trail. Have hiked all of it. Only complaint is that section from Rudolph to Portage (close to BG) has no restroom. Probably why more folks do not hike the entirety of the trail.
Also saw a red fox yesterday just inches in front of me on the wooden bridge in BG entering the trail. At the same spot coming back out an hour later a doe walked right in front of me. The area they came out
from is dense with trees and standing water--perhaps for that reason
safe from humans.

Love having this in my backyard

September, 2018 by kvhursh2017

As a Saint Mary’s resident living a few blocks from a trailhead (High Street) I love being able to just take, off on my bike, no transporting said bike to the park required. Parts of the trail are smooth sailing, parts are very rough... but it’s flat and beautiful. If you have any trail riding/mountain biking experience, this will be an easy ride for you headed North from St Mary’s. South is harder, longer prairie grass can slow you down or make you walk your bike. Always hoping for more trail improvements to make riding even better.

Lima Rotary Riverwalk

nice trail

September, 2018 by mkt45833

This trail is very nice. There are several starting points depending on how many hills you want to climb. The newest section of the trail which begins on North St and goes east of town is in excellent condition with interesting terrain. However if you want to ride this section the turn off is not well marked. Beginning on the north side of North St (near Lima Senior HS) you will need to ride on a shared sidewalk traveling east. This turns into the path about 1/3 mile just past the water plant. You can also choose to start from the east. Lots of fun.

SET is a real gem

September, 2018 by pmcox9

Very nice ride through verdant NW Oh farmland. Immaculately maintained; not so much as a cigarette butt in view. Much of the trail is shaded, making for a comfortable ride even on a hot day. Only disappointment was a sadly underperforming water fountain in NBaltimore.

We went to Bowman Park and found a crushed stone trail. Went to first street and still crushed stone. Don’t know where if ever it becomes asphalt.

Wabash Cannonball Trail

Awaiting completion into Fulton County

August, 2018 by purejoyriding

We live between the trails at the eastern end near Jerome Road. Both forks are great for biking until they end as described in the data, and both become paths for hiking or horseback riding but cannot recommend for biking. That being said, there are consistent stories whenever you stop to talk with other bikers that the paving completion into Fulton county to make this a full 60+ biking trail are at least in the early planning stages. Hopefully this can be done in 2019 as that would make this a real jewel trail for this part of Ohio. The paved parts currently available are great and highly recommend a diversion off the north trail into Oak Openings Park whenever you visit and ride the trails.
