One of the most cleanest and excellent trails that I've rode so far since riding bike again.
Wow! What a great little trail! Pavement is in great condition, signage is plentiful, there are numerous services along the route (e.g. picnic tables, trash cans; and restrooms and a drinking fountain at the eastern trailhead) and some pretty nice scenery (Rhines Swamp, etc.). On our late afternoon fall ride, the bird activity was amazing and a coyote crossed the path less than 100 feet in front of us. And easy access to I-77 & US Route 40 made getting there convenient. There was enough parking at the western terminus and the few road crossings we encountered were very low volume traffic, And, as if all that weren't enough, the trail is perfectly flat, as well. We will definitely return.
Summer, 2026. We biked the new section of the trail between Route 520 and Glenmont. No parking at 520. Parking in Glenmont. Very smooth asphalt. Trail has some S-Bends in it. Very enjoyable ride!
We rode the GAP from Cedar Creek Park to the Boston trailhead at the base of the Historic Boston Bridge and back. About 36 miles round trip. What a great ride. Smooth trail with lots of benches and several picnic areas and toilet facilities. Well maintained. Passed through several little communities along the trail. No major highways and very few little roads to cross making it very safe. Got a delicious huge “medium” size ice cream cone at the “Big Twist” in Blythedale, right off the trail. Highly recommend this ride!
Rode west toward Brinkhaven. The first 4 miles are very uphill. Got to the crest, saw it was downhill, and decided to turn back rather than having to repeat an uphill climb on the return trip. Then rode east til the off road trail ended ( about 4 miles ). Level path, much better, and called it a day ! Lots of e-bike riders in the parking lot.
We parked at Kirk Road and biked to the Mahoning/Trumbull County line and picked up the Niles Bikeway into Niles for additional miles. MetroParks Bikeway has been repaved within the past few years, surface good. Not a whole lot of shade though. There is a bike rental at the Kirk Road trailhead. Also sells bottled water. We headed towards Canfield on the trail in the opposite direction. Great trail!
First time for riding the Conotton creek trail and we really liked it. The best place to park is on the Jewett end. Nice and flat, pavement in great shape and bathrooms long the way. We will definitely ride this trail again.
We biked from Glenmont to Brinkhaven. Coming out of Glenmont it's a 3 1/2 mile uphill climb to Baddow Pass. Then 4 miles downhill the other side where it levels off before going under Route 62. We stayed on the trail to connect seamlessly to the Mohican Valley Trail. Pan Ohio Hope American Cancer Society was having their annual ride that day and we saw some riders. The trail is in very good paved condition.
We accessed this trail from the Holmes County line. Seamless connection onto the Mohican Valley Trail at the Knox County line in Brinkhaven. Surface is paved in good condition. Trail is shared with Amish horse & buggy's. This is a great connection between the Holmes County Trail and the Kokosing Gap trail in Danville.
This "trail" is made up of many smaller trails and some of it is on roads. Do as much research on this as you can before your trip!
Parked in Danville and biked over to Mt Vernon. Had lunch at Southside Diner. Walked up into Mt Vernon and visited some shops. Grand Hotel is beautiful. Trail was paved. Mostly flat. A bit downhill on the return trip. Lots to see and beautiful scenery!
