Paved with hills and wooded views

April, 2020 by butlerel37

This trail is well-maintained with many playgrounds and parking lots throughout. Cyclists can use the shoulder/bike lane while pedestrians enjoy the sidewalk. In spring, some of the trail floods, but plenty of it remains open to enjoy, and flooded portions are blocked to cars.

Dequindre Cut Greenway

Street Art Exhibition

April, 2020 by butlerel37

If you’re interested in street art, check out this trail. The pieces painted on the old overpass foundations are varied and colorful. The trail is all paved with separate bike and pedestrian lanes. Benches are along the way every few quarter miles. In summer the shipping container bar opens with craft brews and treats. You may find the trail hot in summer because shade is only found beneath the overpasses (and at the bar), but in winter you may find this trail ideal because it’s protected from the wind. Favorite if inline skaters.

Detroit RiverWalk

International views!

March, 2020 by butlerel37

Enjoy an easy cruise along the Riverwalk. It’s all paved with many places to sit and admire the Detroit River and the views of Windsor. Every so often there are public restrooms and even ice cream in summer. The native plants and gardens along the way bring birds and butterflies.

M-21 Non-Motorized Path

An option to use if needed

March, 2020 by wonderwomanajams

As a local, I no longer use this trail due to the expansion of the Flint area trail system. However, this trail is useful if one needs to connect to specific neighborhoods and businesses in the area. Can use the Genesee Valley Trail (no cars) to connect

A great trail that connects with several other trails in the Flint Area. Love how there are various sections of different scenery that allows for variety. Close to various shops, stores, restaurants, and the mall, in case one needs to buy a forgotten item. Used by walkers, runners and locals throughout the year.

Nice trail that connects to several other trails within the city. Nice view of Kettering University campus, the Flint River, and State Historical Site of where the General Motors Sit-Down Strike occurred. Runners, walkers, skate boarders and people just enjoying the green space share his trail with cyclists.
