T. J. Evans Panhandle Trail

Needs work

September, 2020 by tandemspeaks

We rode entire length of this trail yesterday. As previously indicated, it’s not especially scenic since you follow a chain link fence the entire length that separates trail from railroad track. But the real problem with this trail is lack of parking and upkeep. It does not have parking at either end of trail. The best place we found to park (after riding trail) is Legacy Park in Hanover. Nice playground with ball fields. There was a restroom and water fountain - out of service due to COVID-19 but would be nice when open again. The trail was overgrown with weeds and low branches in many sections. Lots of busy road crossings but traffic generally slow due to railroad track directly next to trail. Would be nice trail with maintenance and amenities - hopefully will connect to other trails in area eventually so it goes somewhere and is useful.

Heart of Ohio Trail

flat and shaded

September, 2020 by kmatt42

Shade yes, sun yes, wood bridges over water and dry creek beds yes, restored rail road trestles yes. Not a super exciting ride for scenic views but a nice one.

T. J. Evans Trail

Beautiful trail.

September, 2020 by srroddick

Rode this trail from Johnstown to Granville and loved it. Well paved and not at all dangerous. Beautiful scenery and mostly covered by the canopy of shady trees. My advice is take it east to west. The return trip will me much easier.

Lots of cafe stops

September, 2020 by flemintm

Granville: River Road Coffee Shop, Knuckleheads Ice Cream and sandwiches, bathrooms inside the IGA grocery store right off the path by the old train station. Lots of restaurants on Main Street in town. Alexandria: Ragamuffins Coffee Shop is open til 4:30pm (sandwiches, cookies) diagonal from Freedom Bikes

If you do the entire trail, it's worth noting it's easier to go north to south than the opposite because of hills.

Heart of Ohio Trail

great trail

September, 2020 by mikedluzynski

The trail is paved and has a canopy of trees for most of the way. Once you get to mount Vernon there is a very good BBQ truck attached to the Happy Street brewery. It’s a great place to stop.

T. J. Evans Trail

Once is enough

August, 2020 by hile

The trail is narrow with steep drop-offs on both sides -- very dangerous. As others have noted, the trail needs paving maintenance and cutting lots of weeds, trees, and grass. There are too many other trails that are much nicer. Scenery is pleasant, but its tough to enjoy it.

Fairfield Heritage Trail

needs a lot of work

August, 2020 by trschmelzer

Bike trail continues to get worse every year. It’s so rough now I’m afraid of blowing tires and an the one review said I to have went through quite a few tires and tubes. Only riding when I can’t go any where else it’s so sad. It could be really nice but they continue to not do anything about the homeless and they make it a not for use path.

Blacklick Creek Greenway Trail

Great Ride

August, 2020 by huqwrxbx4f

My daughter and I rode 7 miles on it today for the first time and it was awesome!!! We will definitely go back and ride further!

Olentangy Trail

nice trail

August, 2020 by 6frd4yngtj

Very nice trail. It is very busy, but scenery is nice. Not totally flat but, but no big hills in the part we were on.

Heritage Rail-Trail

good for biking, not for skating

August, 2020 by lubanovic.maria

Great trail for biking, real rough for skaters to get on from heritage park and is bumpy with wide cracks, especially if you don’t have true outdoor wheels. Worth a shot but I probably wouldn’t skate the section I did (the last two miles?) again.
