Saucon Rail Trail

My Go To Trail.

April, 2021 by wmebert

Great trail to get your exercise on. Now it’s tied in with the Upper Bucks trail so it’s about 25 miles round trip. Scenic and quiet. Pass by the Saucon Valley Country Club, large “starter castles” in Weyhill, and ride as you meander by the Saucon creek. I love this trail and ride it quite often. There’s a slight grade going south that you really don’t notice until you head back north. It’s ever so slight but if you’re riding a bike you’ll feel the difference. Well maintained and clean. Highly recommend the Saucon Rail Trail.

Liberty Bell Trolley Trail

April, 2021 by dzfinlayson29

This is a very quaint trail and is under a 1/2 mile, one way. If you start at Linden Street, continue to the end of the residential street past Liberty Bell elementary, and then go back to Linden, the total distance is under 2 miles. Nice residential area! If you are short on time, this is the perfect trail to try!

Columbia Trail

As Nice As I Remembered

April, 2021 by slipsoup

I rode this trail for the second time. The last time I rode it was almost 7 years ago. The surface is packed gravel and can be ridden with just about any type of bike. I rode my hybrid without any slippage. There are a few streets crossings but cars stopped for me each time. At the beginning of the trail in Long Valley, there are horse farms and in the last few miles before High Bridge, keep an eye out for the gnome homes. Much of the trail flanks the Raritan River. There are a few places along the way to get coffee or a snack. Great ride for all levels.

Sussex Branch Trail

Caution

April, 2021 by c.landara2

Someone is placing man-made objects to cause flat tires on the part of the trail between Newton and Lafayette. Have a spare tube on you just in case. Had to cut my ride short because of a flat caused by a plastic spiked ball placed right in the middle of the trail. Good trail for a mountain bike or a hybrid though. Will come back to complete it.

Lackawanna River Heritage Trail

Just recently biked the Jermyn to Mellow Park section of the trail. It was beautiful and well maintained. Only issue was PARKING at Jermyn trailhead. I don't know where there would have been alternate parking nearby since the few assigned spaces were taken ( including some spots through the gate along the side of trail) (???) I parked, probably illegally, on the road adjacent to parking area.

Perkiomen Trail

The Crem de la Crem

March, 2021 by paulruns7777

I’ve biked on some of the best trails in Pennsylvania including the Heritage, Buffalo Valley, and Pine Creek but none of them are as nice as the Perkiomen! I started on the trail near Spring Mountain Ski Area which was still open despite it being a 60’s early Spring day. There’s a nice parking area there that is shared by trail users and skiers. If you start there, be prepared for a monster sized hill about a half mile up the trail, besides that it’s challenging but good for intermediate to advanced bikers with some small hills mixed in. The best part of the trail from where I started seems to be from Schwenksville to Collegeville, although I didn’t bike on the section from Green Lane to Spring Mount.
