Santa Gertrudis Creek Trail

Great if you're a beginner cyclist or runner. Not terribly long or hilly, with just enough to tire you out and get the heart going if you take it both ways.

Arroyo Seco Bike Path

great commuting path

September, 2021 by 1raulc

Just moved to Lincoln Heights and love this path. I use it to bike to work in South Pas. The path is quite clean! I bike in the morning and in evening after work. I usually see at least 1 or 2 other people biking, and a handful more at the northern end of the trail--esp. runners. There are some homeless camps. I probably wouldn't ride this path after dusk.

Tracks at Brea Trail

first Time

September, 2021 by jtjosh

I started at the Brea Skate Park then ride the trail all the way to the end of the track at Valencia St. I did it on a Thursday 4:00 pm and found the track beautiful and clean but hardly any bikers around most likely because it’s weekday. I will definitely try this again on a weekend. The only downside of the track is there are too many stops, no underpass to cross some major streets. In the beginning, there is a 15 to 25 steps stairway with bike channel to hold your bike alongside with you. Overall it’s an awesome track, very easy to use.

Marvin Braude Bike Trail

Great bike trails with a lot of ins and outs. Lots of people to look at. Lots of shops. Plenty of restrooms and diners. Good for all day rides.

Bellflower Bike Trail

At multiple points the trail crosses traffic. Since the crosswalks are narrow and have bumpy ramps, it is pretty easy to miss the ramp back onto the trail. I did so after the second or third crossing and ended up twisting my knee.

Arroyo Seco Bike Path

Dirty

It’s just an ok path, but what makes it bad is there are lots of homeless and they put their carts and trash in the middle of the path. 2 stars only because it has the potential to be good if it was cleaned up.

Bonita Creek Trail

Transients now live in wooded creek bed. They leave feces, broken bottles, cigarette butts and trash in and around the trail. I’ve seen copious amounts of graffiti on the trail and in the flood control wash. It would be great if the NEWPORT Police Department would patrol the trails once in a while. Newport city should clean up the graffiti and trash.

Upper Bay Trail

you can circumnavigate the entire Back Bay trail

July, 2021 by daopperman

You can continue beyond this mapped trail to use the trail on both the north- and south-side of the Back Bay trail and related / co-joined trails and use the sidewalk on the PCH to then join other trails and the cliff-top roads on the north-side to get to the Back Bay trail.

Pacific Electric Inland Empire Trail

new to biking

I really like this trail. I have only made it from Cactus to Cherry Ave. But it seems like a safe and easy ride so far. You’ll see some homeless people peppered throughout Fontana area but in all there are a lot of people walking, running and biking.

Santa Ana River Trail

Great beginner trail

My first time cycling and my boyfriend and I started near Yorba Linda park off imperial Hwy. We parked for free next to the park where there was a trail entrance. Rode 10 miles to angel stadium and back. Trail was clean, not trashed, flat, plenty of room, no homeless camps or anything sketchy. Very pretty near yorba linda, mostly just concrete as we got further from our start point. We started the trail at 9am. Trail got busier as the day went on. Looked like plenty of water fountains along the trail. There were bathrooms at the park where we started. I would recommend

Aliso Creek Riding and Hiking Trail

Nice Trail!

I have rode the eastern part of this trail a few times with my friends. It is really nice and has some nice scenery. Just be aware that the 1-5 is closed and you will not be able to come up and down on the trail in that area. There are detours that you can take. Good trail on the eastern part.

Inland Rail Trail

Better than nothing.....

July, 2021 by mark0053

Better than nothing describes this trail. I biked the entire 10 miles each way starting from the transit center. The trail/path itself is nicely paved but could use more directional signs. I found there too many street crossings for my tastes and in many places you have to stop and really look for where the trail leaves off after crossing a street. About 30% of the trail passes through an industrial area with little scenery. This area is better off for sure with this trail but the trail itself when compared to others in the area lacks many desirable things.
