North Coast Inland Trail (Huron County)

Wakeman Section

July, 2020 by vicki1960

We came off the Lorain county section of the trail and entered into Huron County near Wakeman. We biked the section along Route 20. Very nice asphalt paved trail separated by a grassy section between the trail and the road. In Wakeman we turned around and headed back to Elyria.
Trail services in Wakeman we found a service station/convenience store for cold water to purchase.

Slippery Elm Trail

This trail is great for road cycling. It is clean and not congested. It is an easy ride with nice coverage, so the sun doesn't beat down on you for the entire ride. Nice when you just want to get up and get a solid ride in.

Simon Kenton Trail

Nice Trail

June, 2020 by brianaalbert528

Rode from Bellfontaine to about 2 miles West Liberty. Only encountered about 5 other people/groups of people. Lovely views - rural setting with lots of farmland. Saw some cool birds, groundhogs, rabbits and a lil toad. My only complaint is that the trail would be so much better if it were paved. This part of the trail is made with crushed stones. I have a hybrid bike and rode on the trail pretty easily, but the noise is quite awful and some of the little rocks got in my eyes (I recommend wearing sunglasses even if not sunny). There is also little place to rest or stop - I rode 9.5 miles one way and there was only one bench. I will ride again for the views, but probably won't be a regular for me until/unless they pave the trail.

Great trail to hike!

North Coast Inland Trail (Sandusky and Ottawa Counties)

Father Son

June, 2020 by tgw2703

We started on the east end of the trail. Very well maintained. Smooth surface with no potholes. Flat, with a lot of farm land. Not much tree cover. Went through the center of Clyde. It was interesting to be on the path yet in the middle of the town.

Wonderful Trail next to the river

June, 2020 by kamil.maciag

It is really nice Trail next to the river with some attractions at the ends of the Trail (now closed probably due to COVID-19). Path clean and comfortable to run or ride a bike. A lot of restrooms, benches, Swings on the Trails and both ends of the Path. Most Trail cover with the shade, because of the trees and whole time We can enjoy river following the Path.

Marion Tallgrass Trail

Great trail

June, 2020 by fish_boat

Moved to this area about 8 months ago. Have rode this trail at least a dozen times. I always start out at the 3 big windmills just outside of Marion. About a half mile in there is a nice little fishing lake. Boats are allowed but no motors. Nice paved level trail from beginning to end (12.4 miles). Many benches along the way. Just past the 8 mile mark there is a nice place to stop and relax with a pavilion and a Porta Pottie. Just know there are only two Porta Potties on this trail. One at the start by the windmills and one just past the 8 mile mark. Also know that there are about 10 roads to cross. But very little traffic on them. All in all a great bike trail. I give it 5 stars.

Beautiful River Ride

May, 2020 by glenn luther

Crushed gravel with plenty of parking and bathrooms at each end of the trail. Certainly one of the best trails I’ve ever been on in the little town of Grand Rapids across the river is great to stop at to get something to eat.

University/Parks Trail

fabulously maintained trail

May, 2020 by abbiriechman

Love this trail! They clear snow off quickly and there is hardly ever any type of debris on the trail. The ability to ride from the University of Toledo to Wildwood Metropark is awesome!

Miami & Erie Canal Towpath

Spencerville to Delphos

April, 2020 by itshammers

Caught the trail at Old Acadia Park in Spencerville. 8 mile ride up to Delphos where trail abruptly changed to grass. Nice crushed gravel, well maintained flat trail, no benches or rest stops in this section though. Canal on one side and fields on the other, a pleasant ride.

Marion Tallgrass Trail

What a treasure we have in Marion County

April, 2020 by cramer39

I walked the entire 12.5 mile trail, and was so impressed with how it turned out. No matter, whether it is running, biking, or walking it is really a jewel in our community. I am so very thankful to all those who dedicated their time and efforts to the betterment of all of us.

If you haven't yet experienced it, I would highly recommend it to anyone
