My husband and I biked this today and found it enjoyable. Two lovely parks at either end. Stopped at a nearby Publix for some fruit and enjoyed it at one of the shelters along the trail.
Quiet, safe, well kept, long enough, awesome pier at the end. Fully recommended!!
This trail is now paved all the way to 90th street. I live closest to 90th street and regularly take the trail for a quick ride to the shopping centers either on 74th street or to 58th street. Very busy with walkers around dusk.
Great place to walk, run, bike and even sit in many benches to enjoy a nice late afternoon
We parked near the shopping center off Royal Poinciana Way. The trail goes underneath this road. After reaching the northern tip we meandered back along uncrowded city streets. Not for the speedy, the trail hosts many joggers and walkers, but the views make up for it.
I decided to take the path from the southern side of it up to the casino. The first half heading up was horrible. I was dodging horse poop since there’s this little place that rents out horses and encourage them to use the trail, when cars turn in to cross the path they will run you over no matter how many lights you have on your bike or how obvious you make yourself appear, and there’s ATVs and agricultural tractors on the path. However, everything close to or past 88th at is good. They need to start enforcing rules on this trail.
Very nice and easy ride. Beautiful environment. I enjoy it every time as the first.
I've cycled this gorgeous trail 3x, roundtrip in 2018/2019 from Haulover Marina/Beach to South Pointe Pier for a total of about 24 miles. I stumbled on it one Saturday morning in 2018 before construction started on the Miami Beach boardwalk (sad face) in 2020, and fell in love with it. I had no idea I could cycle that far and was blown away by the trail's beauty.
Our first time on the trail today — we found the trail itself well paved and easy to follow. Having come from 30 min away to bike it tho, maybe didn’t feel totally worth the trip. There are semi-interesting parts passing air field, golf course and stables, but also some noisy stretches paralleling highway (and of course less exciting if the blimp isn’t there). Seems nice for locals for sure but maybe not worth a trip.
This was an awesome ride. Several people walking, biking and rollerblading. Certain areas were a bit congested but over all had a great ride.
