Nice trail for walking, running, and cycling. On the Saturday morning that I rode this, there were two guys blowing leaves off the trail, so it is being maintained. Be aware that there is about a quarter mile of the route that is off trail and you’re on a country road. The road doesn’t appear to be heavily traveled, though.
If you like hills back-and-forth from the north end to the south end, this is the trail for you. There are so many things to do off to the side in Middlefield to grab a sandwich grab a hunk of cheese, even to grab yourself some wine and relax for a little bit before you venture back north, you will love this trail. This is absolutely beautiful scenery but a very good work out. Oh yes, do not. I repeat do not forget your bike lock what a piece of mind to know that your precious cargo on two wheels or even your Catrike Dumont that my wife and I have our locked up and nobody will even try to take it.
Scenic and peaceful. A great way to spend time staying fit.
Hiked a few miles out of the Kidds Mill Park. At the Covered Bridge. Trail is in very good condition. Began at the end, mile marker 8.75 and hiked to almost mile 7 and back. Saw an Eagle but did not get a photo of it.
Very nice ride till you get to Leetonia. Then it's brick roads and up and down street hills, then you're good to go on the other side of town to Washington ville.
Rode this trail today. It was a very interesting trail to say the least. It is rather smooth, just a few hiccups. I would consider it to be a challenging trail. Another of turns, ups and downs, but overall a fun ride
PLEASE , when on the trails, announce yourself when passing by saying " on your left " or ring a bell, something ! It is common courtesy as well as a safety issue.
Trail is maintained very well on a weekly basis, but… mile 0-5 have deteriorated over the past 3-4 years to where you are in for a very bumpy (and unsafe) ride. Gaps in the asphalt are extremely jarring to both rider and bike and make for an unpleasant ride. Some sections have been filled in, creating just as jarring humps on trail. Some gaps are an accident waiting to happen. Trail has many loyal users who deserve better to happen. Trail has many loyal users whichdeserve
Parked in North Bloomfield and biked south to Champion and back, then up to Orwell and back for a 35 mile round trip. Mainly shaded trail was good on a warm summer day. Trail is flat and paved. Trail has some bumps here and there. Trail section still closed over Baughman Creek (it's been a few years) between Hyde Oakfield Road and West Mahan Denman Road. Short back road detour.
Rode Montour Trail connector to Oakdale - about 10 miles. Trail in great shape. Recommend Hunner's Pizza in Sturgeon and Helicon Brewing in Oakdale - both on the trail. Saw many other places along the trail. Trail well marked. Trail is flat in this section except going up the connector.
Great trail! - well maintained and lots of amenities along the trail - amazing that it is run by volunteers. More water stops than almost any other long trail I have ridden. Rode Coraopolis to Enlow: 7.8 miles - 1st mile in Coraopolis has rough surface but gets great after that, Scenic route. Also rode Panhandle Connector to milepost 25. Also scenic, surrounded by woods. Some hills but not too bad. Visited from out of town. Will return to ride more of the trail.
