Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park Trail

Best trail!

July, 2026 by alimardory

I have cycled the D&R numerous times from Frenchtown to Washington Crossing and from Lawrence Township to New Brunswick. I have not ridden through Trenton because I have been told it isn't very safe for a lone rider who doesn't know exactly where the trail begins and ends. The trail along the Delaware is beautiful and very well kept. The trail is wide with crushed stone and easy to navigate on any kind of bike. The trail along the Raritan is nice until you get closer to New Brunswick. The trail is rockier with many potholes and not as well kept, plus there are a few spots where you need to dismount your bike and walk. I highly recommend the D&R for biking, hiking and running.

D&L Trail

Not kept up very well

July, 2026 by alimardory

I have cycled the D&L from Washington Crossing to Uhlerstown a few times. The scenery is beautiful, but the trail itself is not well taken care of. Some parts are completely grown over or only allow one hiker/cyclist to pass at a time. There are also miles of large gravel that I think would be very difficult for road bikes, non-hybrid bikes of hikers with balance issues. It is also very crowded on the weekends.

Frankford Creek Greenway

Not So Greenway

July, 2026 by jmcginnis12@gmail.com

During the past two decades, I have been on numerous urban trails that link parks, historical sites and cultural centers, helping to revitalize old neighborhoods and improving quality of life to residents of our cities.
This Frankford Creek Greenway, unfortunately, is not one of these trails. Most of the trail's route runs past salvage yards and other industries in a sketchy part of town. The site of the colonial-era Wheatsheaf Tavern, which was demolished in 2007, is now an overgrown, trash-strewn lot marked by a hand made sign and the only real green space is the strip of vegetation between Lewis St. and active Norfolk Southern/NJ Transit RR tracks. One positive feature of this section is that it provides opportunities for railfans to get good views of freight and commuter trains that frequently pass by.
Although most of the trail's asphalt surface is in good condition, the same cannot be said about the short concurrency with Richmond St. As of mid-2026, the markings directing cyclists to use the street and pedestrians onto the sidewalks have faded and are hard to make out as sections of both have crumbled away. Both the street and sidewalk are now very rough and badly in need of repairs.
In all fairness, the trail does provide a mostly offstreet link from Aramingo Ave. to the Port Richmond Trail and will eventually be extended northwest to the Tacony Creek Greenway. It is also part of both The Circuit and East Coast Greenway and will likely get more attention once all of these trails are joined together. In the meantime, it serves as little more than a connector to other, more scenic paths.

D&L Trail

Bethlehem connection is complicated

July, 2026 by tntmorrin

We really enjoyed riding on the D&L Trail once we were on the trail. We planned to stay in Bethlehem and pick up the trail there. However, we stayed on the south side of the river because by the map, it looked like hotels were closer to the trail from that side. It took us about 3 miles of riding before we could finally connect with the trail. The signage in Bethlehem was terrible. We then rode out to Rieglesville and had a beautiful ride. And then rode back to Bethlehem, and again trying to find how to get across the bridge from the trail was another 3 mile ride. We thought it would be easier coming from the trail but it wasn't. This should be a great marketing tool for the city and we fully expected better signage. We will definitely ride this trail again but won't be staying in Bethlehem.

Enola Low Grade Trail

July, 2026 by aldo_desalvo

2 nice bridges and lots of rest areas. There is a lot of chalk that comes up from the trail I just did it on a 100 degree day. That was a mistake. It looks like they added new parking spots. I recommend it

Warwick to Ephrata Rail Trail

Nice trail

June, 2026 by adsaxs

Parked at the parking lot of the Warwick Twp Municipal Bldg in Lititz which is MM4 and cycled to the end at Ephrata. There is a bikeshare station in the parking lot, if needed.

The trail surface is a mix of crushed stone/grave and paved and is well-maintained. The trail ends unceremoniously at Ephrata.

On the way back, we stopped at BBQ restaurant along the trail just outside of Ephrata which I would recommend.

I would recommend riding this trail.

Warwick to Ephrata Rail Trail

pleasant ride, but ...

June, 2026 by joelkring

This trail is a very pleasant ride, however, riders should be aware that there are no restrictions as far a e-bikes are concerned. I've seen electric bikes that are little less than electric motorcycles. Expect to see electric scooters, but don't expect them to announce themselves before passing. I see many young mothers with their children, either in strollers or on bikes. Its just a matter of time before a fast moving e-bike and a child collide.

D&L Trail

Lehigh Gorge rail trail

June, 2026 by cnycyclists

26 flat miles between Jim Thorpe and White Haven. The section from White Haven south to Rockport is crushed stone and we did it on road bikes with 25mm tires no problems. Going north from Jim Thorpe, there were washouts filled with sand and wider tires would have been nice.
The trail goes downhill 1-2% as you head south.

Big Boy 4014 6/13/26

June, 2026 by terryl30

Today has been a rail trail rail fan dream come true. I rode through the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania on the D&L rail trail. To top off the beauty of this area I also got to see up close the historic Union Pacific “Big Boy” 4014. She’s been traversing the country commemorating the 250 birthday of our nation. Needless to say I’ve had my bit of heaven on earth today.

Struble Trail

June, 2026 by dalderfer

Very pretty, flat trail. Suggest parking in the lot in Downingtown and following the trail then connecting to the Uwchlan Trail and back. Eagles nest was seen here-multiple photographers out taking photos. Nice memorial site at the beginning-nice place to sit and reflect with beautiful trees. Very pleasant trail.

Upper Bucks Rail Trail

nice easy trail

June, 2026 by dalderfer

We parked at Veteran's park in Richland Twp (trail starts near the flagpole/handicapped parking area behind the baseball fields) and rode this trail that connected seamlessly with the Saucon Rail-Trail about 6.6 miles out to DeSales University and back. E-bike friendly, dog friendly. Would only use a jogging stroller with sturdy wheels. One minute you are in a shady tree lined area with big boulders then suddenly on a short but cute boardwalk to cross a marshy area. Kept it interesting. Few easy road crossings along the way. Relaxing and beautiful ride. So glad for this addition to my community

D&L Trail

White Haven to Black Diamond Trailhead

June, 2026 by sees

Jennifer and I rode the section north of White Haven to Black Diamond Trailhead and then turned around and rode back White Haven on 6/5/2026 for a 21.8-mile ride. If you like to ride thru the woods this section of the trail is a good section for that it is also is a good ride on a hot sunny day, lots of shade. We did not like the parts where there were only 2 dirt paths with grass between them. There is an increase in elevation of approx. 638 feet, to us it was a noticeable grade, it did the return trip more enjoyable. We will ride this section of the trail again.
