Short, easy ride. However, there is a lot of household trash and furniture that has been dumped along this trail.
Rode the entire length of the trail through Ashtabula County to the Trumbull County line. Parked at mile 2 in Orwell and biked 24 miles up to Ashtabula and back and then down to the Ashtabula/Trumbull County line.
Trail is in very good paved condition and cleared of leaves.
Ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant steps away from the trail in Orwell. They are biker friendly. Even offer outdoor seating if you want to keep and eye on your bike.
We had a very warm Fall and it was great to get out and enjoy a fall ride. Biked from Countyline (Trumbull and Mahoning Counties) to Western Reserve in Canfield and back for a 25 mile round trip. Nice trail. The newly constructed tunnel under the OH turnpike is open. It's very nicely lit as well.
Dedicated trail now goes through Chardon. Looks like it opened very recently. A great addition to an all-around terrific trail. Among the best ib NE Ohio.
Very nice trail. 15 miles round trip. We started in Garrettsville and rode toward Mantua. Beautiful, especially in the fall with all the leaves falling. The trail is primarily flat; however, there is the slightest uphill grade going toward Mantua. Parking easy to find and both towns at each end of trail are very quaint. I would definitely recommend this trail to all levels of bike riders, along with families with small kids.
Great trail. We broke this trail up into three sections. Did the south section a few years ago. Completed the central section in September. We parked at Headwaters Park to start. Along this section of the trail is a nice little rope course along with a small walking trail around a pond. There is a building with very nice bathrooms accessible. There are a few hills, but nothing extreme. We completed the north section in October. This section has the potential to continue on through a busy town but at the time we rode, part of the trail was still under construction. This portion of the trail does have some larger hills. The entire trail is very well maintained and travels through some beautiful areas.
We rode 30 miles of this trail in the last month. Trail was awesome. Was surprised that there were NO restroom facilities on the Trumbull County section of the trail. Each trailhead in Ashtabula County had a Port-o-let. I did not like the 16 speed bumps on the trail just south of the Oakfield trailhead. We rode the trail south into Rock Creek, but when we started taking the road section around the missing link, vehicles were speeding past us. We decided to turn around and go back to the north. Overall I give the trail the 5 star rating.
We completed another 10 miles of this trail. Beautiful day! This time we started at the trailhead in Orwell. Love this trail. Very well maintained throughout. Mostly flat, however, this is one of those trails that you will pedal no matter which direction you head but nothing intense. Just a great ride.
I went on a hike with my dog. We saw beautiful wildlife and the vibe there was quite serene!
Nice trail that we will ride again. Couldn't quite give a 5 though. The cracks in the asphalt are in need of repair and a bit annoying. Also, a few too many road crossings than I would like. One other thing that would be nice to see is some picnic tables for resting along the way. The only nice rest area is at the bike shop at Kirk Road.
