Parked at Kirk Rd took the trail to Niles and back. Nice ride it was 83 no humidity. New blacktop in Niles a bit rough/ not flat but still good ¿
Parked at Headwaters Park and biked a few miles South to Middlefield and back. Then up to just North of Chardon and back for a 35 mile round trip. Trail has some gradual grade to it. Nice scenery of some wooded areas but mostly farmlands and open fields.
Enjoyed the trail overall. I stayed at the Hyatt House Located right off the trail and took advantage of their on site bike rental (highly recommend). The other comments about trail being busy were spot on. However, it wasn't to the point to take away from enjoyment. Did the portion towards OSU campus and not towards downtown, per other review's suggestion. Very beautiful and with enough turns and elevation changes to make it interesting but not too difficult.
Great canopy, low population, good surface, realatively flat
Love the trail but hate having to dodge the horse poop.
A nice ride. The hub is a good place to start.

We parked in Orwell at mile marker 2 and biked North up to Austinburg. There is a store in Austinburg that has snacks and water. Biked back to Orwell then a few miles South to the Trumbull/Ashtabula county line. Total round trip 40 miles. A great ride as always!
Rode from Athens to Eclipse last fall. Now finished from Nelsonville to Eclipse.. Great Trail! Drove 2hrs and was worth it both times.
Great diverse scenery, for the most part smooth, well-kept, asphalt pavement but there are a number of intersections that are nor clearly marked as to which direction to go. My brother and I rode from Franklin to Piqua and there is a split in Dayton you have to watch for otherwise you'll go down the Mad River trail. The next area where there were a number of intersections that were not clearly marked was when you got close to Troy. There was one intersection where you had to make a 90 degree turn after crossing a bridge that was very poorly marked. There should be clear consistent arrows at each intersection indicating the direction the main trail continues. It was too easy at many of these to go the wrong way and find out a mile later you better turn around and go back.
We only biked along part of this trail, but it was so great and so peaceful! We started in Athens, down by Sonic and Stimson Ave. We rode down about 7 miles. Passed through OU’s campus and went along through the Plains. We veered off to swing by the Joe Burrow Stadium! We were able to hop quickly back on the trail to head back. There is a cute restaurant/bar that would be fun to stop at for food, drink, and live music, but we were out early on the trail! Loved this one and would love to complete the whole trail, but we were worried about going down and back for so long. Enjoy!!!!
I enjoy this trail whenever I’m in the area. It’s well maintained. Scenic with lots of wildlife - watch out for chipmunks! If you don’t stop at Fast Eddie’s in downtown Belleville for a draft, you’re missing out! (They have excellent food too!)
