Midtown Greenway (MN)

Post Riots no thanks!

July, 2020 by awildererica

Rode East from uptown on the Greenway. Detour on part...scary streets with high traffic. The Greenway has many homeless people & tent camps sad and unnerving. I went with a gent but I did not feel esp safe riding on that part of the Greenway. Lots of road crossings and vehicles don’t always obey that cyclists and walkers have the right if way per the signage. As a single woman I wouldn’t bike the East side alone and no interest in going back with friends.

Minnesota Valley State Trail

Mostly shaded Huber Park to Chaska but..

July, 2020 by coljen

We hit about 30 yards or so just east of Chaska where the path was under water so probably not a great trail after heavy rains or springtime. Would also not be comfortable alone as a female as it’s very secluded and swampy around the trail. The ride was pretty easy and I would try it again with my husband going further past Chaska. Easy parking and nice start at Huber Park.

Cannon Valley Trail

Great day bike trail.

Started in Welch and road to Cannon Falls. It was a little over 20 miles roundtrip. I recommend going this direction. You go slightly up hill all the way to Cannon Falls and then back down hill coming back. Had lunch at Mill Street Tavern. It was good and had some variety. Overall, we enjoyed the trip. It is $5 per person to ride and it’s worth it to keep it well maintained. I’d strongly recommend it.

Nokomis-Minnesota River Regional Trail

While a nice, casual and bikable trail, it is all along streets. Sometimes busy crossroads. The end - down, down, down to the river - is awesome.

Mississippi River Regional Trail (Dakota County)

We started at the Simon's Ravine trail head parking lot. Nice, flat asphalt trail that was perfect for our 6 and 8 year old. Cool too see barges and trains but also a lot of nature and pretty views.

Lake Phalen Trail

Inline skating

Intermediate-hard trail Overall 3/5 for inline skating! Some parts were very smooth to medium rough. One medium sized hill and one large steep hill. If you aren’t sturdy and balanced enough that fall is going to hurt really bad

Red Jacket Trail

great ride for a windy day

June, 2020 by thegurrs

I was hesitant to ride today because of all the wind but this trail is so wooded it was perfect. It’s in decent shape but is beginning to show its age with quite a few cracks. The views were great following a river for quite a few miles and a few nice bridges to cross. I would recommend this nice trail for a lovely outing in Mankato.

Cannon Valley Trail

In great shape

We accessed the trail at the Welsh point and went east towards red wing. Wonderful trail covering 7.2 miles. Lots of hard words and paralleled the river. One of the nicest trails in Minnesota. We will be back often.

Sakatah Singing Hills State Trail

I have driven this trail several times and it has always been very clean and well kept. The trail is mostly flat and offers great scenery with neat places to stop at in the little towns you travel through between Fairbault and Mankato.

Nice trail. Canopy tee covered , farm land, over a couple of bridges, under one underpass. Not very crowded.
